Cask gravity at SIBA BF, Paddock Wood. Very clear orange red. Raw alcohol on aroma. OK in mouth, doesn’t do much, some malty fruit. Some fullness. Gets better as it went down, some decent fruit flavour.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 10, 2008
A Mes rate: cask at the Hop Farm festival. Awesome bright amber / copper with no head. A little raw a typical of English brewers making something a little stronger than the usual 4.5% bitter. Slight nail polish and caramel are not the best flavours I have experienced. The sweet fruity malt is nice enough as is the spicy and herbal finish.
