The Baron, Knickersby. Heavily lacing tawny amber with a thick chunky collar. Chew of dried sultana and apricot aroma, some jam sweetness and metal. More apricot and creamy fig in the mouth, balanced with wet dough, biscuit, hazelnut, slight ash, chocolate, some chick pea and warming booze. Easily the best of the Langton lot I’ve tried. Sourish, a little earthy and balsamic. Clean, balanced and good.

Cask handpump at The Wellington, Birmingham. Amber with some lacing on top. Not much scent, just a bit fruity with tomato, I think. Bitter, very dry and quite sweet as well. Not much taste to it, though: Some sweet hop in the finish but this is almost disguised by the dryness.
