UPDATED: SEP 3, 2010 1) Bottle from Duncan Murray Wines. Come on, I had to. Dusty bronze with a white rim. Smells vegetal and a bit wrong like a mouldering dishcloth, with some background jellied red fruit and human sweat showing up as it warms. Mouth confused with bitter husky malts, digestive biscuits, earth, ash, pineapple, chocolate and a tang of something especially Tunnel-like and endearingly rustic. Galena? Custard for dessert. Bit of spoiling marzipan. Still, ends up pretty decent with earthy yeast, citrus and dry roasted malts. Just about worthy. 436312=2.8 2) Murky brown with a rapidly diminishing off-white foam. Mouldering apple and blackcurrant aroma with rubs of leafy hop, beeswax and cake mix...fennel seed as it warms. Yeasty and apple peel-sodden; hints of rhubarb, walnut and a pleasantly oily, buttery aftertaste suggesting brazil nuts and Rich Tea biscuits. Lacks some condition, but sniffs and tastes alright. 626212=2.8 again.

Bottle conditioned. Brewed for Duncan Murray Wines in Market Harborough. Amber with a small head. Aromas are sweet toffee malts with some chocolate. Some Autumn fruit with spices. Flavours are sweet, chewy toffee malts with spritzy yeast. Lightly dry and bitter on the finish. A decent bitter.
