Lapin Kulta Arctic Malt Dark Lager valmistetaan 100%:sesti kotimaisesta, panimoamme lähellä viljellystä ohrasta, jonka meille toimittaa tuttu sopimusviljelijä. Vesi on harjujen suodattamaa puhtainta pohjavettä. Näistä parhaista pohjoisen luonnon raaka-aineista syntyy ainutlaatuinen maku, jossa on täysmaltaisuuden tuomaa tukevuutta ja pehmeyttä. Maku, jolla on juuret. Olut on parhaimmillaan 16-18 -asteisena.

Clear yellow orange, medium off-white head. Malty-toasty nose with sweet notes. Taste is malts, toasty notes, grainy tones, hay, more sweetness. Pretty bland even for a macro.

Head was little stronger but also flattened after couple of minutes. No lacing on the glass. Color is not what a dark lager is supposed to be. Its amber. Smell is maltier actually, but mostly this sweet malty flavour that you smell from kali, rootbeer, kvass or kalja. So not a good character for beer. Mouthfeel, well nothing just watered down massproduction that obeys te Finnish alcohol laws with 4,6% vol max alcohol. Hops??? well lets not even go there. If I had not paid 1.18€ for 350 ml bottle I would pour it down the drain and forget about it. Keep the bottles, they might be worth a fortune one day as an attempt to make microbrew by a big company.

Bottle. OK, I’m totally not going to drink this beer at 18 degrees Celsius as the label suggests because it’s a pale lager. In my mind "Dark Lager" always stands for a Dunkel or a Czech style dark lager and this isn’t even a Vienna. Instead it has a deep golden body which is most likely achieved by using caramel. The beer’s weak aroma has something sweet and bready. Taste is similar to regular Lapin Kulta with a dash of caramel. It’s a lifeless pale lager and not "dark" by any measure. So beware!

Boks 0,5l fra Kilpishalli. Fortært i Skibotn 19 Mai 13. Mørk gylden. Høyt kremaktig skum som varer en stund. Litt lacing. Svak maltaroma med innslag av metall. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er litt karamell men gjennomgående vassen.

Clear, pale reddish brown beer with a white head. Sweet malt notes on the nose. Sweet bread and vegetables in the flavors. Not very crisp mouth feel. Watery body.

35cl bottle. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, molasses and some cellar dampness. Pours clear amber, with thick, beautiful head. Well balanced taste, not exactly amber lager I enjoy, but definitely much more nicer than some "vienna" beers from Austria. Bottle/can is worth a try, but the price they want for that in Vantaa airport is just obscene.

350ml bottle. Clear dark golden color. Medium size, off-white head, stays. Caramel, malts, mild honey, touch of plastic and sweet notes in aroma. Sugars (like sugar cubes type of sugar), malty, caramel in taste. Weird grassy and grainy side taste. Watered down vienna, but certainly not a horror.

Just when you think that Lapin can't get worse. Disappointing toilet water colour. No real taste or distinguishing feature other than it is not as metallic as the other Lapin 'urine' beer. One does not want to admit to being Finnish with beer like this. Lidl's cheapest beer is way better than this. This is a chemical soup with colouring. Eww ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
