From Bottle. I’m always doubtful about beers in clear bottles. It suggest there is nothing to protect from the light. This bottle was clear green, but the brew was less bland than I expected. The head was low and disappeared quicly, the body was pale yellow, but the taste had a bit more fullness than expected. A good average beer for all purposes.

Clear yellow color, medium dying white frothy head. Aroma of corn and grain. Bit sweet taste with a slightly sticky palate.

Light color with large head which is gone in a matter of seconds. Not a lot of aroma to speak of. Light hints of hops with malt taking over. Very sweet, a nice summer beer. Shout out to my parents for getting me this!

Bottle, DBF 2004. Gold, good white head and gentle condition. Low grassy hop notes in the nose, moderately malty sweet in the mouth but with some hope flavour creeping in and a sweet finish with a touch of lingering bitterness. Unoffensive and undemanding.

Bottled, as Lapin Kulta Premium Lager, in St. Petersburg, Russia. At 80 rubles, the most expensive beer I had in Russia. And yet its label seems to suggest adjunct grains. There is a very slight citrusy hop quality to it, but otherwise it’s just another "premium export" beer. The label says it’s brewed in Tornio, Finland, which may make it the northernmost beer out there.

Sampled from bottle at Danish Beer Festival 2004 (#54).
Dark yellow beer, disappearing head. Weak hoppy and flowery aroma. Malty flavor, quite full for a pilsner. Not a lot of bitterness.

As Lapin Kulta Premium Lager Weak hoppy aroma, slightly skunky. Mild sweetness, but your typical pale lager smell. Beer is pale yellow clear, with foamy white head. Little retention or lacing. Light-medium watery body with very little carbonation. Taste is light sweet to start, but not overbearing. No acidity, and the faintest hint of bitterness comes through at the Finnish (ha). After has a bit of honey in it. The 5.2% is hidden completely, and it tastes like a light beer. Pretty poor showing.

Average foamy white head. Golden lager color. Aroma is yeasty malt, slightly metallic. Watery, crisp carbonated and metallic mouthfeel. Very mild bitter in the finish. This is quite similar to III version but has a bit more body.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2006 Pale lager color, medium, tight and lacy head. Light and corny, slightly fruity aroma. Flavor is slightly bitter and alcoholic, sweet-honeyish and corny. Close to watery and quite carbonated, but clean, light-bodied palate. The original, characterless and non-irritating, Finnish export lager - ready to be consumed everywhere in the world from non-recyclable plastic mugs :) (Lapin Kulta "long neck" 5.0% 3 3 4 2 6 = 1.8) Paleish golden color with a medium, foamy head. Very faint, toffee-honey-malty aroma with very little hops. Mild, corny-toffee-buttery-malty flavor with a quickly fading, dry and slightly acidic, but not bitter finish. Pretty light-bodied, but not watery palate with foamy carbonation. A seemingly balanced lager with absolutely nothing in it - no aroma, no flavor, no hops. Maybe it’s what the people want, then...

Slightly bitter, not very original, not very tasy. Average lager in almost every respect. Sweetish finish.
