Lapin Kulta IVA is light, easy to drink and fresh lager beer; and many people think that it is at best in this ABV. Aftertaste is soft and pleasant. ABV 5,2 %, gravity 12 %, color 8 EBC.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2014 330ml bottle, labelled Premium Lager 5.2% ABV, barcode 6413600091943. Pours clear golden with a medium sized white head with some retention. Aroma of wheat bread, hay and herbs. Taste of wheat bread, and a hint of citrus and herbs. Some bitterness with a slight sweetness. Well carbonated, medium-light body, slick texture and a bitter abrupt finish. This is a classic European macro Pale Lager with good availability and fairly affordable price in the Nordic countries. A solid unoffensive beer, but don’t expect anything extraordinary or exciting. Compared head-to-head to a 500ml aluminium can, labelled Lapin Kulta export 5.2% ABV, barcode 6413600091233. Presumably should be identical to the bottle but was noticeably worse. Taste did not have the same bitter crispness and also there was a hint of alcohol. The aroma had also a metallic touch, possibly an old can but I could not decypher the date code. The score is based on the 330ml bottle.

Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a stemmed glass. ABV 5.2% New country tick. Golden yellow colour on the body with a tall white head, with thick density and average retention, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Aroma is heavy on malts, with some grass, apple juice and cookies. Taste has again lots of malts, very sweet, there is some apple and cookies too, good but a little too sweet for me, especially on the aftertaste. Medium body, good carbonation, little low but with a bite. Overall an okay beer.
