2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Jayb0 (916) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - JUL 12, 2012Tall can. A beer for getting hammered on. 9.5% actually hidden fairly well. Has some flavor, a bit of a head, not horrible to look at or drink but it’s sweet and mainly just trying to get you from here to there.

,5L can served in a snifter., A boozy, floral lager that is not nearly enough like a typical Belgian Strong Pale Ale, let alone a good one. Very sweet and floral aroma of light grain; remains rather sweet in tasting. Reminds me of a cheap Eastern European strong pale lager.

Looks kind of flat, not very lively. Brownish yellow. Get hints of ginger but can’t get over the pungent smell of sulphur. Sugar sweet and not very drinkable.

OK, don’t fool yourself -- this is cheap, and high alcohol. It’s light and not too bad to drink. The alcohol isn’t that noticeable.

Tallboy can. This is real Belgium Ale! Its says so on the can. What a rare treat. Clearish orange golden with a small webby white lace. Nose is sweet, soapy, fruity and boozy. Wow. The flavor is out of this world. In fact, it should not exist in this world. It is that special.

Aroma of citrussy hops and sour malt liquor. Pours pee colored with white bubbles up top. Taste is unpleasant. Corn, grains and overpowering malty alcohol. This is terrible.

Pint + can. Clear with lots of bubbles . A white layer of foam. This just isn’t very good. It leaves an unpleasant after taste. Some yeast, grain, honey, and euro hops in the flavor. It is thin in the mouth. Not one I can recommend.

Pour is a clear bright yellow with a white head that dissapears quickly. Aroma is sweet malt. Flavor is nothing. Really just a dry malt but also not really harsh at all. No alcohol kick in the gut. I grabed this b/c it was cheap and said Belgium on the label. Little did I know it was Belgian malt liquor. This was really tasteless an odorless.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 seymour (1099) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 18, 2011
Tasted from tall-boy can into nucleated pint glass. Poured a pale golden color with a weak, white head, very little lace. Not much aroma to speak of. Definitely couldn’t smell adjunct sugars or harsh alcohol, though, which is saying a lot for a 9.5% ABV lager in an aluminum can. Vastly better than any malt liquor. Further proof that Belgians brew better than American macros. Malty sweet but not cloying. No real complexity, but simple and strong with a mildly fruity, crisp and refreshing lager finish. Cheap: a lot of bang for the buck. A couple of these cans around a campfire and I’d be feeling pretty good.

Smells like urine. Not much heat from the higher alcohol content, but very dry. Golden, clear.
