Aroma of citrussy hops and sour malt liquor. Pours pee colored with white bubbles up top. Taste is unpleasant. Corn, grains and overpowering malty alcohol. This is terrible.

Pint + can. Clear with lots of bubbles . A white layer of foam. This just isn’t very good. It leaves an unpleasant after taste. Some yeast, grain, honey, and euro hops in the flavor. It is thin in the mouth. Not one I can recommend.

Pour is a clear bright yellow with a white head that dissapears quickly. Aroma is sweet malt. Flavor is nothing. Really just a dry malt but also not really harsh at all. No alcohol kick in the gut. I grabed this b/c it was cheap and said Belgium on the label. Little did I know it was Belgian malt liquor. This was really tasteless an odorless.

Tasted from tall-boy can into nucleated pint glass. Poured a pale golden color with a weak, white head, very little lace. Not much aroma to speak of. Definitely couldn’t smell adjunct sugars or harsh alcohol, though, which is saying a lot for a 9.5% ABV lager in an aluminum can. Vastly better than any malt liquor. Further proof that Belgians brew better than American macros. Malty sweet but not cloying. No real complexity, but simple and strong with a mildly fruity, crisp and refreshing lager finish. Cheap: a lot of bang for the buck. A couple of these cans around a campfire and I’d be feeling pretty good.

Smells like urine. Not much heat from the higher alcohol content, but very dry. Golden, clear.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Aubrey (3193) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - OCT 4, 2011
White wine-like nose. Big, lasting, bleached-white head; golden and clear. Sweet (honey, sugar cereal), fruity (apples, white grapes) and slightly herbal. Very weak bitterness; not nearly enough to balance things out. Kind of like a sweet malt liquor. Alcohol is hidden pretty well, though it does warm the throat. Drinkable but unexciting.

Wew, and I thought this was going to be a cheap pale lager, wew. Almost 10%, well on the label it says 10 but only 9.5 on this site. I’m wincing even before I open it. What I can’t figure out is why we have this style? There are so many american versions that RB refuses to rate as such; lets make it sound snooty, mostly from poland, heheh. Anyway, here goes. Looks like any other pale lager in the glass. Smell is like many pilsners from a green bottle, but a tad more friendly. Hey, there is this barrel smiling on the label, pretty cool. First taste? WEWWW I say again, this time its a big taste bud alky blast that knocks by head back. The presentation leaves no hint of whats in store for the taste buds. Only $2 for a big brown 17 oz bottle. Strong and in yer face, seems to have this warming feeling as it travels down the hatch. Pretty good sizzle but what it does have is covered by this volatile alky sensation on the back of my throat, wew again. I would even venture to say that I think a few IPA tasted better than this and thats saying something from a IPA hater. Nasty strong shit like the big 7 or 8% beers like camo or ojo. Yes just as cheap, don’t know how they do this for $2. Thats about the same price as the americanized versions in 16 or 24 oz cans and bottles, same stuff. Big cheap buzz off a 17 oz bottle of beer. Cheap pale lager with grain alky added I think, yep. Hey I think the nembness induced by the alky content is making this more acceptable as the session continues.

11.2 oz green plastic bottle (elegant huh?).
Pours into my Unibroue tulip with a medium white head that initially struggles to form but turns out all right. It leaves a good amount of lacing as it recedes. The beer is a pale bronze/gold.
It smells like fruity paint thiner.
The taste is weird, it has a huge walnut flavor, with tons of caramel and a cloying sweetness. The alcohol burns.
Is this Belgium’s answer to Malt Liqour? It is on par mostly with an american malt lager.

11.2oz green plastic bottle with a plastic cap, it’s gotta be real good! Shared by Doug, thanks for the addition of another style
Appearance: Clear yellow/golden with a small white head and some lacing
Aroma: Sweet malts, Belgian candy and hot alcohols
Taste: Watery and dirty dishtowel flavor
Wouldn’t recommend this one to anybody.

Oh yeah, a Belgian Malt Liquor in a twist off green plastic bottle. Bought at Tres Bonne Cuisine. Too bad I didn’t share this with Eric, but don’t worry I saved some. Pours a clear copper color with almost no head, some bubbles. The aroma is repulsive; hot alcohol, almost like a shot of everclear, some more interesting Belgian notes struggle through. The flavor is basically like a hot and dirty liquor, some over-ripe apples, dirty water. Hot as hell.
