This is a very full bodied, strong and dry imperial stout. Mouthfeel is very complex, warm and lasting from the use of ten different malt varieties, with chocolate and roasted barley notes at the forefront. Northwest hops balance the malt and alcohol sweetness and provide a noticeable pine and floral finish.

[Bottle] Pours dark brown with a brown head. Char is dominant, but not overpowering. Light anise initially, some dark fruits in the background. Aroma is hard to pinpoint--chocolate, caramel, some faint vegetal notes at times, a little dark fruit again. Fairly thin, dry, long finish. A decent stout, but not very memorable or complex, and a little heavy on the char.

Pours a finger of head on a black body. The aroma is licorice, dark chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is roasted malt, chocolate bitterness and finishes with alcohol heat. The texture is softer. A fine stout.

"A little on the tame side for an imperial stout, but still a solid brew. Love the style, like the beer. Licorice, malted chocoalte, roasted malt, just all in smaller quantity than the norm for the style. Easy drinking for a high abv beer, though. They should barrel THIS one :) Nitro. 2014-Funny. I didn’t realize I’d had this before and as we’re drinking the bottle I was wondering how this would be on nitro. Bigger chocolate and hops outta the bomber. 3.6 nitro tap...3.8-9 bottle. 7.8%, but the body is nice for a lighter IRS."

Bomber. picked up at the brewpub for me by my wife on a gf’s trip. Poured a dark brown with a small tan head, Nose was milk chocolate, more oif a milk stout tham an Impy Stout. Sweet taste, mildly bitter, medium bodied with a nice finish. Overall a good stout.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a thick black color with a fine head on top. More of a sweet stout than an imperial stout. Very fine balance of sweetness hops and roasted malt. Enjoyable after meal beer.

On draft at the SF beer week opening celebration. It pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma is roasted malt with some burnt toast and mild notes of cocoa. Smells a bit young... The flavor is dry and roasted with a medium body and nice notes of chocolate and treacle. Very nice.
