Bavarianbeer77 (53), München, Germany Dec 29, 2005 ( Bottle, 0,5 Litres ) Brownly clear-dark colour, nice head, oscillates between sourly and coffee-like approaches, anyhow surprisingly well-balanced. Worth a try at any rate ! --- 06.09.04
Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 13, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Reddish brown, with a very small head. Slightly smoked malty notes, dry but not very bitter. Lots of CO2. Technically quite well-done, but in a rather clinical, boring way. 180505 Bov (4744), Bienne, Switzerland Apr 14, 2005 clear ruby-brown colour, little firm head, aroma of vegetables with a touch of caramel, sweet and medium-bodied, dry and slightly bitter finish - very modest; I should have give this bottle to fiulijn and keep the good one for me :-) fiulijn (6010), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Apr 7, 2005 Dark amber color. The aroma is sweet-malty. The taste as well is sweet, malty, a lot of caramel. In the end a stronger character of roasted malt balances it a bit more. The resulting final is quite bitter. Geiserich (1555), Vienna, Austria Nov 14, 2004 Dark brown color. Malty and fruity aroma. Malty, light sweet taste, light fruity cherry notes. Only very few roasted notes. Quite astringent aftertaste, light bitter. Quite o.k., unusual Dunkles.
