COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It just so happens that this year was a big one for a couple of local brewers — our HOBO Kevin Buckley and Mother Earth’s Kamron Khannakhjavani. Both of them turned 30 this year, officially making it creepy for them to leer at high school girls and lame to wear baggy pants that fall off their butts.
To celebrate joining the “Little Blue Pill” and baldness cure target demographics, the two got together last month to collaborate on a new brew they’ve named “Dirty 30.” It’s a Rye Saison brewed with honey and passion fruit, both produced right here in North County’s Beer Capitol, Vista. Light, but full-bodied, and with a touch of sweet honey and fruit (not unlike the brewers), it’s a refreshing beer perfect for these early autumn afternoons.

I had this on tap at the brewery in Vista. It’s a tasty saison with spicy notes that give it a nice complexity.

Dirty 30 by Proxy on tap at Churchills. Pours with a hazed medium golden hued body with a large white head with good retention and great lace. Aromas are of passion fruit, grainy, grassy, hoppy, alcohol, toasty grainy (wheat or rye), and a bit of rough pepper and straw. Flavors are of passion fruit, hoppy, grassy, grainy, tropical fruit esters, medium alcohol and some banana bread. Lively bubbles with a dry finish. Well hidden alcohol. Nicely done.

On tap 4 oz. sample at Latitude 33 in Vista, CA. Clear, bright dark amber with off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of yeast, rye spiciness and caramel. Taste of yeast, lemon, rye spiciness, honey and orange with a sweet and sour finish. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A dark golden color with a white head. Really fruity nose. Lots of tropical pineapple notes, a bit of mango, apple, and some pear. A hint of alcohol, tons of spices, and some sweet caramel. Big malt sweetness on the palate. Some caramel, brown sugar, and a lot of fruit esters and hop flavors as well. Pineapple, pear, grape, and apple are noticeable. Some spice notes, a light yeast flavor, and some hints of alcohol.

Tap. Rating #1. Big spicy saison. Fruity and yeasty, dark yellow and a little hazy with a nice dry finish. (2528)
