4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Served on draft at Stone’s 16th Anniversary Celebration. The appearance is a deep brown with a nice brown head with some bubbles. This guy is pure medium to dark bodied coffee. Really pure wonderful coffee profile. Some sweet cream and light cocoa powder notes as well. Medium full mouth with a touch of chalkiness. I really enjoy this one. Will have to try some more from Latitude 33.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nearly black in color with a brown head. Aroma? Coffee. All coffee. Maybe a hint of dark bitter chocolate. Flavor is coffee and coffee and more coffee. This beer actually tastes like coffee with a hint of chocolate creamer. Wow, intense.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours black from the tap. Creamy head leaves good lacing. Full chocolate aroma with just enough hop. Flavor is chocolate and expresso. Palate keeps some of the malt sweetness but remains dry and flavorful. Nice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Stone, Aroma is Espresso/burnt coffee. Not an iced coffee aroma like some coffee beers, this beer has an actual coffee quality to it’s aroma which is great. Thick mouthfeel with some deep chocolate notes, but the predominant flavor is coffee. Which is great if that’s what you are looking for.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Murky dark brown pour, short lived light tan head. Not that pretty. Lots of coffee, bitter espresso bean, burnt toast, note of chocolate, and moderately sweet. Medium - heavy mouthfeel. I wonder how much caffeine is in this. Enjoyable if you like coffee stout.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2012 From tap at the Stone Bistro. Pours pitch black with a huge tan head. Aroma is dense toffee coffee. Smooth and dense, yet not offensive. Bitter, dry and solid coffee into a smooth coffee malty light sweet finish. This is cold coffee more than beer, but I like it.8-4-8-4-16=4.0

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap @ PP Carlsbad. Black pour with a quickly fading tan head. Aroma is fresh coffee, roast, oatmeal, and chocolate. Taste is coffee, oatmel, roast, chocolate, hop bitterness, a bit of raisin, and some light sweetness. Even, creamy mouthfeel. Great beer! Not sure if tagging it as an imperial was the right call but it’s a nice roasty stout with a dominant coffee presence and some darker fruit notes lurking under the hops.
