I had this on draft at the brewery in Vista. This is a nice stout with pronounced cofffee notes, very tasty.

"A nice well-rounded breakfast beer. Godd balance of roasted malt, chcolate, and bittersweet coffee. Light-medium bodied and smooth on the palate, with a lasting dry coffee as=ftertaste."

Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Big sweet malts and sweet espresso coffee, cream, chocolate, and lightly roasted malts. Maybe just a hint to sweet for some folks, but I found it very drinkable.

On tap at O’Brien’s. Way too dry, though looks great lace sheet. OK, but not a fan of dry stout, you would think oatmeal would enhance it.

Tap at the brewery - Vista. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. Plenty of well roasted coffee in the snout, a big of chocolate cake. medium to big sweet flavor, more coffee, well toasted bread, chocolate, mild earthy bitterness. Medium to full in body, somewhat oily, with fine to average carbonation. Lightly sticky sweet to finish, mocha, Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, hints of metal, more chocolate cake. Rich and tasty.

Tap at Salted Pig, Riverside. Pours near black with red highlights. Good lacing. Jalapeño style green coffee nose with Moroccan dry cured black olive and Mikkeller RIS style tar. Aroma, as it warms, moves to 100% Tabasco sauce. Just straight up hot sauce. Taste is Mikkeller style RIS with heavy tar and industrial ash, sweet white alcohol, acidic coffee, more Tabasco sauce. Bizarre. Would receive a 1.8 from MrChopin and perhaps a 0.8 from 3fourths.

Aroma: lots of coffee, chocolate fudge and caramel, rich and roasty. Appearance: jet black and mostly opaque, tan head with average retention and just a bit of lacing. Taste: rich chocolate and plenty of coffee, molasses and caramel, toast and roasty malts, a bit of sweetness, fairly dry coffee finish, bitterness is mellow and lets the malt and coffee take center stage. Palate: medium to full body, low silky carbonation. Overall: really nice coffee stout, I like that its a manageable abv, good balance.
