COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The smooth robust style porter ale features symmetry between the complex malts and hops required for the style. Black in color with deep streaks of dark amber, the medium bodied ale starts smooth with a perfect blend of caramel, coffee and chocolate and subtle yet crisp roasted malt flavors finishing clean and slightly dry.

(can, 35.5cl) Black colour with a beige and firm mid.sized foamy head. Moderately roasted dark malty aroma with notes of caramel, milk chocolate, coffee and liquorice spice. Moderately roasty bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Dark and mildly roasted malt character with caramel, chocolate, coffee and slightly burnt notes; dry-ish roasty bitter finish with leafy and chocolate notes. Decent brew. 07.IX.14

Poured into pint glass. Rather nice head, creamy. Rich dark in color. Taste is light. Medium carbonation. Overall, a decent porter, but did not do all that much for me.

12oz can, from Woodstock Wine & Cheese in Michigan. Dark brown color. Thin tan head. Leaves decent bits of lace. Bigger roasty aroma. Light dark fruit, some coffee. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. Lighter sweet. Medium body. Kind of a chewier texture. Lighter carbonation, dry finish. Solid hoppy roasty porter.

355ml can. Black colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, dark ochre to tan head. Not overly intense, dark malty aroma with a touch of roast and caramel, toffee, hints of malt lozenge and treacle. Taste is initially slightly sweet dark malty, later more dry and roasty dark malty, hints of caramel, toffee, burnt caramel, even a nuttily touch in the finish; normal, unremarkable, average texture, a sticky, lip-wetting layer nevertheless remains. Unhoppy and slightly too sweet.

Glass out of a can. Pours a deep brown with a quickly fading tan head. Aromas of leather, chocolate, coffee and a little dark fruit. Flavor is full and robust. Lots of chocolate and roasty malt with a creamy mouthfeel and a bit of a burnt malt/coffee presence in the finish. Very nice.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 4/1/2014. Pours slightly hazy very dark brown color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, toast, dark bread, light herbal, and roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, roasted malt, coffee, toast, dark bread, light char, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Light earthy/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, toast, dark bread, herbal, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of dark/roasted malt flavors; with a good roasted sweetness/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this was a nice porter. Good robustness and balance of dark/roasted malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Great malty and chocolate aroma. Flavors of rich dark chocolate, roasted coffee, molasses, milk and raisins with a surprising hop finish. An unsuspecting beer that I never heard of, but quite liked.

Almost black color. Solid body. Several fine tastes including roast, coffee and sweet malt.
