The smooth robust style porter ale features symmetry between the complex malts and hops required for the style. Black in color with deep streaks of dark amber, the medium bodied ale starts smooth with a perfect blend of caramel, coffee and chocolate and subtle yet crisp roasted malt flavors finishing clean and slightly dry.

Top.

Malziger, leicht süßer Antrunk. Vollmundige Malzigkeit, schokoladig, zum Ende hin mild herb. Lang anhaltender, etwas nussiger Nachgeschmack. 11/12/11/11/9/11

Canned. Pours dark brown with a nice head. Aroma: a lot of roast and coffee. Taste: very intense in its roastiness, some coffee and chocolate as well. Judged by its weight (only 5.5% ABV) this is a pretty intense porter. Very drinkable as well. Great.

Büchse: Deep, deep amber coloured with a ruby sheen, smaall and lacy off-white head; moderate dryish ashy-roasty nose, dried blackberries in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, almost medium bodied and pretty soft; slightly drier roasty-ashy finish with a malty-bitter aftertaste, again mild fruity traces included. Well rounded = well drinkable…

From a can, a very nice looking blackish porter with a decent tan head. Nice friendly smelling porter fer sure. Quite strong initially then it starts to settle into yah. Somewhat difficult dark roasted flavors in there, seems to be more than the 5.5% alky listed here. Aroma goes somewhat metallic. A little bit of dirt flavor starts to manifest on the palate. Gives me a little shiver. Finish has a back of throat lasting medicine impact on this lager lovers palate. This is by no means a gentle porter, probably more on the Baltic side of porter styles. I like my porters mellow, laid back and well behaved, this is not. Its a rebel thats more in yer face.

One poured in a pint glass and one straight from the can. Basic porter characteristics, but none outstanding in any way. Very dry finish.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, toffee, chocolate, roast, hints of spice, coffee in there as well. Taste is a mix of coffee, chocolate, roast, hints of earth, some caramel, finishing with some roast. Nice, clean.
