COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The smooth robust style porter ale features symmetry between the complex malts and hops required for the style. Black in color with deep streaks of dark amber, the medium bodied ale starts smooth with a perfect blend of caramel, coffee and chocolate and subtle yet crisp roasted malt flavors finishing clean and slightly dry.

Malty-fresh nose. The beer starts fresh-smooth and nice roasted. Smooth malty-roasted body. Not too much sweetness but still highly drinkable. Fresh, not too deep. Roasted, nice parts of nuts, fresh slightly bitter roast, smooth and easy to drink with a nice sweetish malty-bitter aftertaste.

Can: The aroma consists of moderate chocolate, molasses, caramel, dark fruits, and roasted malt. It pours a dark brown with some orange highlights. It has a one finger khaki head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There is some spotty webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate dark chocolate, light caramel, and a touch of molasses. There are some faint dark fruits in the background. The finish has light-moderate roasted malt. After it warms, the flavor changes from more sweet to more roasty with some faint burnt notes. It’s light-medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Pours black with some reddish edges when held to light. Light brown head starts at 1 finger deep then fades to a light cap and gentle lace. Aroma is huge; rich dark roasted malts, nuts, chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, earthy hops. Taste is accurately reflected by aroma, basically the same. Body is medium-heavy, creamy, low carbonation, satisfying balanced bittersweet finish. Overall, a huge amount of flavor for a 5.5%abv brew. Before checking the abv, I would have put this one around 7.5% based on aroma, body and flavor. This will be a new go-to porter for me.

Top.

Malziger, leicht süßer Antrunk. Vollmundige Malzigkeit, schokoladig, zum Ende hin mild herb. Lang anhaltender, etwas nussiger Nachgeschmack. 11/12/11/11/9/11
