3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (5416) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUL 9, 2011
33cl bottle.

Flavour is lovely, crisp malts, apples, obvious sharp white pepper aftertaste. Super elegant and delicious.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 JorisPPattyn (7305) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUL 14, 2009
Huge, very dense & fine white head, very resistent, over visibly well-carbonated beer, the colour of lemonjuice. Dry, yeasty, nearly wheat-like farmyard aroma’s, lightly peppery, Szechuan pepper or FarChiew. Very dry, grainy and spicy flavours, Dupont yeast-character to the utmost. Very high attenuation and dryness clearly pointing towards the use of white candi sugar. Dried garden herbs & spices. Fully attenuated, yet creamy and spritzy, excellent MF. Even drier and maybe tad more unidimensional than most Dupont beers impress me. Still unmistakable origins. Earlier Rating: 2/24/2005 Total Score: 3.6 Golden beer, starts clear at first; good white head. Typical farmyard Dupont nose, spicey & honeyish. Tart, spicey and flowery taste, with grain, and a fatty taste, like sweet frying fat. Despite the tartness, less dry than most Dupont beers. Oily, fatty and slick MF. Surprising beer - some typical Dupont characteristics, while some are completely off. Why?
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JoeinEscazú (1324) - San Jose, COSTA RICA - JAN 7, 2009
Drank at Hasselt Beer Weekend, under the label "Helkiase." Brewed for an historic hospital. Blonde and cloudy with a thick white head. Nose is grainy and cidery with banana notes, a touch skunky. Maybe a bit lightstruck, damn those green bottles. Lemony with a skunky bitterness that is not unpleasant. Good stuff actually.

Tasting at Brewtopia. Gold pour. Puffy white head. Aroma is full of yeast, spices, oak and some tart fruit. Flavor is yeasty, citrus, spices...has some real earthy components but isn’t overly sour and isnt sweet either.

Dupont...would not have guessed. I guess Wanderpepen is the Alan Smithee of Belgian breweries. Very slightly hazy. Decent body with pear & apple fruitiness and a light bready malt character. A little funky, with a dirty apple note. Meh.
