Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, dark chocolate, coffee - strong coffee, wood, alcohol - bordeaux. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, chocolate, brodeaux, creamy - smooth. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. [20130928]

On tap @ Borefts 2013. A really deep and dark brown one with a small light bubbly brown top. Itís not to extreme on the nose really. I get traces of brown chocolate, a strong vinous touch, something grass acidic and a little bit of nuts. Itís really really sweet this! Near cloying, or is it beyond? Vanilla sweet with wood barrel and a soft heart- and alcohol-burn on the finish. Way to sweet for my delicate taste buds, but I like the vanilla and the woody vinous touch. Not something I could drink lots of really, but it has lots of flavor. 28.09.2013

Draft @ Borefts. Did all 4 side by side. All the beers have a nice roasty chocolate mocca coffee and caramel base. Creamy, nice body and long lasting flavour. 3.9 Oporto: some red wine and port notes, not as much barrel +1 Bordeaux: light red fruit notes, some earthy barrel - 0 Jura: nice red fruit and more barrel notes. +1 Calvados: mostly vanilla, hint of barrel, makes the beer thinner -1

Borefts Beer Festival 5. Day 2. Opaque black - brown beer with a small pale tan head. Palate is soft and very slightly dry. Nice fine carbonation. Very smooth dark malt with mellow dark chocolate and cream. Touch of soft wood from the barrel and nice red wine. Light soft finish. Lovely!

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 28.09.2013, tap @ Borefts:
Completely flat. Aroma is red berries, oak, sugar, redwine, vanilla sugar, grass. Taste is very sweet, red berries, sweet licorice, sugar, oak, butterscotch, hay. Little bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Just a very strange beer.

Draught at BBF13 - tried all 4 variants - Jura, Oporto, Bordeaux, Calvados. Overall a very nice impy as the roasted malt character comes through very well, combined with a sweet palate and a bitter finish. * Jura => addition of very subtle fruity notes (cherry oak) and slight turpentine - the best imo > 4.5/5 * Oporto => no real port influences noticeable, a bit more on the tar and soy side > 3.6/5 * Bordeaux => fine vinious hints (pinot noir alike notes - red fruits, a bit of plum) and slight acidity in the aftertaste > 4/5 * Calvados => missing depth and character, render the beer more dull than all others (but still quite yummy) > 3.4/5

Tap at Borefts í13, 28/09/13. Mid black with a thin tan covering. Nose is roast malt, sweet sugars, chocolate, vanilla. Taste comprises sweet sugary rush, vanilla essence, chocolate, light woody barelled boozeyness. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet finish. Ok impy, drinkable affair but Iím thinking the small pour is a blessing, way too sweet and lacking balance with the roast and bitter aspects.

Tap @ Borefts 2013. Black and opague. Roasty vinous aroma. Malty sweet flavor with distant vinous notes. Soft, oaky, caramelly, mellow, great beer!
