3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at BBF13 - tried all 4 variants - Jura, Oporto, Bordeaux, Calvados. Overall a very nice impy as the roasted malt character comes through very well, combined with a sweet palate and a bitter finish.
* Jura => addition of very subtle fruity notes (cherry oak) and slight turpentine - the best imo > 4.5/5
* Oporto => no real port influences noticeable, a bit more on the tar and soy side > 3.6/5
* Bordeaux => fine vinious hints (pinot noir alike notes - red fruits, a bit of plum) and slight acidity in the aftertaste > 4/5
* Calvados => missing depth and character, render the beer more dull than all others (but still quite yummy) > 3.4/5
