Interesting strong ale with a complex aroma due to maturation in sherry barrels. Sweet, roasty, spicy and fruity notes are all well integrated. In mouth it is sweet and medium body. High alcohol content but well integrated. Interesting aroma, too sweet in mouth.

Tap at the BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Poured a clear medium amber with a round bubbly head. The aroma is rich alcoholic sweet and fruity. The flavour is strong bitter with a smooth alcoholic liqourice bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation. I don’t know many British strong ales that are anything like this.
