jjpm74 (2883), Connecticut, USA Apr 20, 2008 Bottle courtesy of SuzyGreenberg. Pours gold with a sustained white head. smells of toasted malt, caramel, touches of dough, some citrussy hints. Tastes of dry malr, some residual sweetness is still there, touches of bitterness. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is semi sweet and crisp. Well done! collander (5), Snohomish, Washington, USA does not count Mar 1, 2008 Updated: Mar 15, 2008I picked this up from Central Market in Mill Creek. This is of the best lagers I have had. Beautiful honey color, light and fruity on the nose. This lager had a nice mouth feel and was quick to go down. Soft malt, will lend itself wonderfully to Sushi, mild cheese such as Petit Basque. Too delicate for the more robust or spicy foods of the world. This has to be the perfect post work, hot summer day beer.
Laughing Buddha uses premium brewers rice in this beer. Nothing to scoff at considering the price of premium brewers rice rivals malt. mjtedin (8), USA does not count Apr 15, 2008 A lightly flavored lager. It will pair well with Asian cuisine. A subtle flavor that is not too hoppy. fakepurseninja (470), Sammamish, Washington, USA Apr 15, 2008 Updated: Apr 16, 2008A little thin and watery - rating on an ’overall’ scale this does not rate very high, rating on a lager scale - it’s as good as I have sampled. Light mouthfeel with quite a bit of sweetness up front with an almost grape essence. Nice subdued floral hop presence. Oh, so smooth crystal malt finish that coats your tongue like a velvet blanket - has a very soft cracker character to it that is strongly showcased on the dry finish. Really enjoyed this drink. BückDich (4525), Boise, Idaho, USA Apr 17, 2008 Bottle: Greenish gold hue with a light white head and nice lacing. Nose of clean fruity light hops, toasty clean pilsner malt and a touch of paper. The flavor is clean, lightly fruity with a mostly clean and toasty malty flavor. Clean snappy finish. Nice balance, perfect bitterness level for a lager, not into the pilsner area. Nice!
