4oz Taster - Hop Scotch Spring Beer Festival - Seattle, WA
Aroma – Great Ginger aroma. This was brimming with a great aroma but not overpowering.
Appearance – Light golden in color, thin head and slight haze.
Flavor – A great balanced ginger flavor. This was not so huge it would grow hair on your toe nails. Loved the flavor this is going to be a great beer. Good malt and hops use also.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, great texture with a Awesome dry finish.
Overall – If you wanted a beer for sushi this is the beer. Wow what a great flavor. They have something going on here at Laughing Buddha.

22 oz. bottle - pours clear and burnt orange with almost a shade of green mixed in; ginger very obvious and is the primary aroma; yeast and lemon also mixed in; ginger definitely packs a zing; also some lemon and citrus; has a soda feel to it and per their MO, very unique

On tap at the WBC Father’s Day Festival 2008. Pours clear dark gold with a lacy white head. Medium body, light carbonation. Big ginger nose, spicy, almost hot ginger-laden taste and a crisp ginger-loaded finish. Sorta one-dimensional. Could use some complexity and/or balance.

6/14/08 On draught at the Washington Brewers Festival. Aroma is like a soda. Appearance is hazy gold with a low cream colored head. Flavor is spicy with ginger and some sweet malt for balance. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a low carb texture. Overall, interesting but lacking in strength.

biting ginger aroma, I can taste it! mandarin may be there, or just the citrus character of the spice. hazy gold with orange, thin head, great swirl of citrus and ginger, though all at once. I was expecting the ginger to be fierce and dominant from the first whiff, and was happy with the balance.

22 oz bomber courtesy of the former lurker now known as bvc. Pour is hazy golden orange with a nice two inch dirty white head and a bunch of carbonation bubbles. Head noisily settles in, leaving behind some decent lacing. Aroma is ginger. My goodness, I was expecting this to smell like ginger of course, but it REALLY smells like super fresh ginger. Behind the ginger is some orange juice and yeast. Taste is spicy sweet ginger, mandarin orange citrus tartness and bitter citrus peel. As with the nose, this tastes exceptionally fresh. Somehow the taste in this is not overpowering, really nicely melded actually. Palate is medium with very lively carbonation. I can say, without a doubt, I have never tasted a beer like this. Fun and refreshing. Thanks for sending this one my way Brandon!
