Bomber from Brook-Falls Discount shared by ck1 and my other brother. Pours inky black with a tannish head leaving some lacing. Aroma has lovely coffee and coffee. Plus liquid chocolate and some caramel. Taste is of roasted malts, coffee with sweet caramel underneath. Finished quite roasty bitter. Rich and strong. Very nice, very coffee. ck1 says 15.

22oz bottle in a plastic cup. Pours dark brown with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted and dark malts, caramel malts, dough, and light hops. Flavor the same, a little light on the flavors. Average texture. A decent porter.

Bottle share. Snifter pour. Aroma was light overall of coffee, malts and toffee. Kind of smelled as a barley wine. Taste was very good with chocolate, coffee, sweet vanilla, cinnamon, and roasted nuts. Smooth mouth. Spice aftertaste.

Bottle from smith4498 split with wife. Also a new state rating. Pours obaque jet black with an impressive tan head. Nose of black coffee, hint of chocolate. Taste with very coffee forward but is not overwhelming or astringent. Slight flowery bitterness flows at the end and keeps this choo-choo chugging down the tracks. Body is solid but seems a bit watery at times. Overall I am very impressed and enjoyed it very much.

Really enjoyed this one. Freshly brewed Kona coffee bean, dark bitter chocolate, and a touch of vanilla. Brown sugar and caramel base. Not terribly interesting but well executed...and the ABV is beautifully hidden.

22oz. bottle. I must have gotten a bad one, i see that it rates well among my fellow ratebeerians. Just for my own notes, I didn’t like it. Nose was dominated by some kind of organic solvent. The taste wasn’t much better. Vinegar and acetone comes to mind. Had to drain pour it. Hope to try again and rerate. I will keep my score neutral.

Glass: Nonic pint glass Opaque black in color with no highlights, two fingers worth of thick rocky brown head. Sweet molasses in the front of the aroma followed by vanilla, coffee, and alcohol. Slight hint of chocolate syrup, magnificent smelling beer. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, alcohol, and there is some other warming aside from the alcohol. Some kind of pepper maybe. Full bodied, thick creamy in texture yet seems to go down really smoothly. A lot of warming in this beer that really lingers in the finish. Serving type: bottle

Tap at Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring MD. Pours a clear deep brown to black with wispy tan lacing. Nose is a bit green but as it warms there is a ton of hazelnut and vanilla sharp coffee. Taste had excellent hop balance, dense bitter bitter chocolate, more sharp vanilla hazelnut coffee. Much better than I expected. Their was some odd vegetal green coffee overpowering for awhile but it warmed up nicely.

22oz Bottle. The pour was a deep dark opaque brown with an average (1-2 finger) medium tan creamy head that receded down to a thin layer of residue and medium collar, which created excellent sheets of sticky lacing. The aroma was of roasted dark malts, light resin hops and a bold leathery yeast with notes of dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, dark fruit (black cherry) and a mild tartness. The taste was lightly sweet and exceptionally malty with a bold chocolate roastiness which lasted throughout, progressing with a mildly bitter espresso presence along with a slight fruitiness towards the finish. The flavor hung around for a good long time following the swallow, with a lightly tart fruity roasty taste that was left to settle in on the taste buds, as a mild alcohol warming sensation crept in. Mouthfeel was well beyond medium in body with a dry, oily texture and a somewhat lively carbonation. Overall as Imperial Porters go, this one is at top of its game. It possessed tons of roasty flavor along with a mild fruity tartness and a superb drinkability. This brew is highly recommended and a must try for anyone who likes a dark roasty brew... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Pours a dark creamy brown. Aroma is roasty, dark with a hint of espresso. Flavor is strongly coffee bitter, but pleasing. Mouthfeel is decently smooth.
