ditmier (1023), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 20, 2009 Tap @ EcoBrew Fest - Pours dk brown with a small tan head...boubon dominated this brew in each sense, so I did not enjoy it quite as much as the original one...aroma is bourbon, wood, vanilla and cocoa...flavour is similarly bold, nice bitterness from the oak and charred coffee, balances well with the dark malt...still a fun brew, but a terrific argument in itself for everyone burnt out on BA Imperial Stouts... carruthm (1112), Seattle, Washington, USA May 9, 2009 Super bitter aroma and taste with a lot of coffee notes and a slight oak note from the barrels. BillKismet (1900), Seattle, Washington, USA Feb 3, 2009 Black-bodied with a diffuse chocolate colored head. Lustrous roasty notes emanate from the glass as bourbon and vanilla tendrils punch their way out. Characterized by a solid backbone of roast flavor with strong oaky and woody notes. Bourbon is impossible to miss. Almost overpowering. A potent winter brew fit for winter time consumption. ecayennej (1), Liberty Lake, USA does not count Jan 31, 2009 Dark as night, a wonderful example of the style!!! Let it warm up a bit for the full effect. snakeoilpete (324), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 26, 2009 Updated: Jan 30, 2009On tap at Naked City. Pours black with a small tan head. Malty coffee aroma, huge coffee and alcohol in the taste- just a little more and you’d be drinking Kahlua. Nice thick mouthfeel, but the alcohol probably seeps through a little too much. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Dec 8, 2008 Bigwoodfest. Black with a tan head. Nice blackened malt aroma with dark raisons and whiskey. Smooth, rich flavor mirrors the aroma with wood cocoa and bourbon vanilla riding a roasty malt base. Very good. BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Dec 7, 2008 Bourbon Barrel Aged The Dogfather Imperial Stout
On cask @ The Front Door Pours out a nice black topped with a small tan head. Talk about a a great aroma of sweetness and the Bourbon. Very tasty plenty of sweetness. I picked up some Vanilla, Dark chocolate, roast coffee, wood, and some more of the bourdon.
This stuff will only get better with age. I hope the alcohol will mellow a little. Better than the non aged one.
