Brewpub: pours black with a dark tan head. Aroma, I guess huckleberries even though that’s not a flavor i have experienced before, similar to blueberries I guess, chocolate and roasted malt notes. Flavor, some chocolate, berries, slight roasty flavors, the fruit is pretty strong. Interesting for sure, not used to the huckleberry but its tasty.

Pint at the 5th year anniversary party. Pours black with a frothy brown head. Aroma of chocolate and fruit, both of which were very noticeable and blended well, like a chocolate covered cherry, or huckleberry I guess. Taste is also a good balance of sweet fruit and rich chocolate, some toffee, slight coffee finish.High carbonation, medium body. Not overly sweet but definitely a dessert beer.

Had this on tap at the Holiday Ale Fest in Portland, OR in Dec. 2009. Colour... black with a thick tan head. Nose... hmmmm..... smells like one of those Lindt Swiss milk chocolate bars that’s filled with fruit. Palate... very fruity and floral, dark chocolate, residual berry but can’t tell that it’s huckleberry.

on cask-pours a rich retaining brown head and black color. Aroma is rich dark malt-molasses, berry. Taste is rich dark malt-ashy/molasses, berry, secondary earthy hops.

On tap at the brewery. Strong, lovely aroma of huckleberry and chocolate, roasted malt. Pours black as midnight with beautiful lacework. Mouthfeel is creamy; medium carbonoation, bitter finish. Probably the greatest dark fruit beer I’ve ever had.

Such a hit and miss brewery. Has a light chocolate flavor. Its dark. The huckleberry just ruins this ale and give it no lasting or distinguished flavor.

Holiday Ale Fest... Poured near black. A mess of a beer. Nice chocolate notes but mostly an overly medicinal, huckleberry flavor. Not very stout like and a near garbage pour.

On tap at Boise Beer Fest Pours out a brown topped with a tan head. Aroma was tons of huckleberries. I know the price of huckleberries is pretty high I wonder how much was in this batch??? Well on with it. Aroma was also of sweet chocolate. Taste was more of the berries and chocolate. I also picked up some light smoke and charcoal. A little bitterness on the end. A fun brew.

The Ceremonial 1st beer, served in a small white paper cup. Monster nose of chocolate and raspberry and various other dark fruits.. Dark, dark brown with a small tan head, leaving behind as much lacing as can stick to the sides of a paper cup. Very tasty and smooth, although it kind of drops off in the finish.
