3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle. amber/orange hue with thin clumpy head. nose is way more malt-forward than Iíd expect -- very sweet, really, with lots of toffee and bread dough before you get the hops, mostly by way of a neroli/resiny presence. thereís some alcohol evident on the nose, too, and moreso in the palate, which helps to dry it out a bit. nice hop presence but still seems to tilt more in the direction of malt. I wouldnítíve guessed that this was an Imperial IPA if Iídíve tasted it blind. not bad but probably not what youíd expect, and not what youíd look for if you wanted a truly tongue-melting extreme hophead experience.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle pour split. Pours an orange color with a big foamy head. Nice hops and piney aroma. Thicker, creamy body to it with a ton of caramely malt flavor. Nice hoppiness to it. Rich malt flavor towards the end, and the double digit ABV is well hidden. Decent imperial here.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pour at home split thanks Andrew for sharing, golden amber pour, this beer has a unfinished taste to it, you get a lot of mash and wort taste in this beer. Not saying itís bad, itís just different.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pour from a 22 Oz bottle I got from Total Wine & More Boynton Beach.
Hazy, dark orange with a one finger high creamy white head. A lot of lacing stays on the glass when the head dissapears.
Nose: A lot of hops! Orange, grapefruit, sugar, malt, apricot and peach.
Taste: Nuts, pine resin, apricot, citrus, brown sugar and biscuits.
Body: Full, complex body with light carbonation. Creamy, smooth mouthfeel. A very soft beer! The alcohol is very well hidden. A great balanced beer between the bitterness and the sweetness.
If I had the chance I would go back to this beer often!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Hop and Hound, Bothell, WA; good price; 10.9% ABV
It pours a hazy orange-copper-amber color with thick creamy head. Caramelly brew, sweet but not syrupy, mellow, fruity, with a touch of vanilla; it has a good body and itís not chewy; it provides a lot of hop resins witr some piney character. Possibly too sweet in the final.
Very good, not exciting as a pure pale malt IIPA, but also more drinkable than a first style darker example.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hop assault right from the beginning. Hazy orange/amber body with small soapy head. Aroma is strong pine cleaner, taste is sharp and bitter, hops and citrus. Tang hides the high ABV which lurks in the background, but does provide some warmth in the throat. Medium lingering bitter finish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured cloudy, orange with a small head but a lot of lacing. Aroma of hops and citrus fruit combined with some malts. Taste a bit on the sweet side, the bitterness of the hops is there but perhaps a bit too sweet. Not bad, quite enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I have a devil dog at home. 18 years old, full of spit and vinegar, two year cancer survivor, lived her life allergic to grass and with a bad liver. Now blind and deaf but well loved, comfortable, lives to eat and smell her way through all her haunts in the back yard. This devil dog beer does not match her, all the right parts, funk, fruit, citrus, alcohol, and malt, but just never all comes together. Not bad, just not special. Wouldnít say no if offered though ...

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: very hazy bronze color, pours with a huge beige head, the head is very creamy
Aroma: syrup, grass, roasted malt, grain, butter
Taste: citrus, apple maybe, alcohol, bitter finish,
Palate: average carbonation, leaves mouth feeling wet, has a bitter aftertaste
Overall: this is a good IPA with lots of subtle complexities about it, the alcohol is a bit high and dominates much of the experience,

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
22 oz bottle - June 2012 bottle rated on Jan 6, 2014. Gusher. Thatís not a good sign. Once it stopped overflowing, it poured alright... hazy orange with a big off-white head. Then it got weird. I smell some grapefruit but more than that, I smell dirt and rot. No, itís not "earthy" in some positive way. Itís more like the bottom of the compost bin. What the hell? The gusher part makes me think infection but itís not sour. Fortunately it doesnít taste like compost, not that Iíve tasted compost. Itís extremely bitter with some citrus notes, an underpowered malt backbone, an underlying off character, and alcohol. I think that in the flavor the massive bittering hops mostly but not entirely overwhelm the serious flaws that show up in the aroma. Disappointing.
