truegen (138), Puyallup, Washington, USA May 25, 2007 22oz. Bomber. A visit to relatives in Spokane took me to the Yoke’s on Argonne, where I found an astounding beer collection, and amongst many new finds, I got the Devil Dog. I think my initial reaction was similar to my first taste of Stone’s Ruination--this is transcendental stuff. I love the Simcoe push, as I’m really becoming a fan of this hop. The alcohol content really seeps into this offering. I did chew up my toys, and a few Republican relatives to boot.
Hophead22 (365), Redlands, California, USA Nov 2, 2008 22oz bottle from the The Epeeist, thanks Chris. Dark brownish pour with a slight orange tint to it. Smelled spicy, like cinnamon with a little hoppiness to it. Very nice hop bitterness in the flavor though very nice smoothness as well. beerguy101 (3547), Newark, California, USA Oct 23, 2008 Sampled on 10/23/2008. This imperial IPA pours a slightly hazy orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head nice retention and decent lacing. The aroma is grapefruit, pineapple, caramel and sweet. A medium to full bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity, floral and a touch piney. A medium bitterness Imperial IPA. Lively carbonation. Lots of orange and orange peel flavors towards the back end of the taste. Hides the 10% alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is somewhat bitter. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA Oct 23, 2008 8-26-08 bottle thanks to miketd <br />
Clear amber orange with a decent white head and some good sticky lacing. Smell is very sweet. Flavor is honey and fruit preserves..... syrupy fruit juice. Mouthfeel is okay - not great.
