COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Tail Wagger Black IPA
A Big Bold Hoppy IPA that finishes with a dark twist.
True to its IPA roots Dogzilla has a massive hop presence that is Piney and Citrusy. A malty backbone, along with the dark malt gives it a bit of a roasty finish. Brewed with Simcoe and Cascade Hops, Pale Malt, Munich, and Black Barley.

Good dark color with a large not overpowering hoppy aroma. Nice caramel head. Nice balance. One of my favorites.

Bomber: brown pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is woody, nutty, vinous and somewhat sour. This beer off? Flavour is sourish fruit, nutty dusty chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12. oz bottle. Pours with a thick brownish head that does last. Looks dark brown in appearance, dark but not opaque. Aroma of roasted grains. A little chocolate. Some hop aroma. Tastes sweet up front. Bitterness in the end. It was OK.

Not a big fan of black IPAs. However, this one comes across more like an IPA. At 6.9% ABV you’d expect a jolt but the balance overcomes the higher ABV. Love the appearance and nose. The dark roasted grain does does not dominate the flavor like a lot of black IPAs

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, and hops. Taste is slightly sweet up front, but has a slight bitterness in the finish. Flavor is of roasted malts, mocha, and dark chocolate. Really tasty!

Big black beer with a 3 inch frothy head. That head settles, as they all do, but stays frothy. The aroma is stiff and musty bitter and reminds me of damp malt. The flavor is rich and bitter roasted malt. The mouthfeel is full, smooth and has a bitter finish.

Aroma- smells terrible for an ipa. Definitely an aroma present, but smells atypical of northwest ipa’s.... More like a damp, mildew filled basement or something. Appearance- looks nice, not black... Dark brown with a tan rocky head. Taste- offensive to my palate. Maybe this was infected or something. Phenolic, plasticy... These terrible off flavors cover up anything that may be good underneath. Palate- lacking in body and way over carbonated. Slightly astringent. Overall- I can hardly believe that this is a commercial beer. When I saw the score of 90, I was floored. This beer is a drain pour. The only reason why I drank half of it was for these tasting notes. I seriously want my 4.50 for the bomber back. Awful!

Weird aftertaste, bad aroma. I say it smells like cat poop, the wife says dirty rodent litter. Taste is ok, if it were not for the smell i might drink it again(but only straight from the bottle to spare my nose) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Rattle & Hum. Mid to dark brown, thin white-ish head that laces wonderfully. Nose is verry hoppy, sourness from the cooked malts, grassy bitterness. Mouth is hoppy bitter attack, water mid-taste with a touch of fragrant oiliness from the hops, then lasting bitterness. End is full and with the roasted malts coming through, leaving a touch of warmness and a long malty mouthfeel. Straightforward but wonderfully composed. ---via BeerBuddy
