A Big Bold Hoppy IPA that finishes with a dark twist.
True to its IPA roots Dogzilla has a massive hop presence that is Piney and Citrusy. A malty backbone, along with the dark malt gives it a bit of a roasty finish. Brewed with Simcoe and Cascade Hops, Pale Malt, Munich, and Black Barley.
6.9% abv and 69IBU’s

Light unclear medium to dark amber color with a large to huge, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, moderate hoppy, dusty hops, moderate to heavy yeasty, leather - brett. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, dry dry, hoppy and for me some nice brett. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20110223]

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2011 22 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a deep orange glare with a small off-white head. Aroma is wineous fruity and slight citrusy. Brett, dry hoppy and slight spiced. Dry brett and hoppy finish.7-3-7-3-14=3.4

From tap at Sunset Grill. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet and caramelish. Roasst malty note in the flavour to this, else rather bitter, roasted and dark malty. Dark malty finish.7-4-8-4-15=3.8

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of fruit, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet and very fruity on a medium malty background, leading to a bitter finish. The body is light.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Beerlando. Pours a clear orangey brown with a frothy and very lively beige head with good retention. The nose is spicy and almost herbal in its hoppiness. Medium body, some dusty roast and a shitload of bitter hops. Somewhat citrusy. Fresh and drinkable. 230211

Bottle at Papsø. Clear orange brown coloured with a huge off-white head. Fruity aroma of grass, liquorice, hops and pine needles with notes of brett. Fruity flavour of hops, pine needles, grass and brett. Hoppy finish.

Draught@Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Black colour, small beige head, which leaves nice lace though. Aroma is fruits, some roasted notes as well as cherries and mild alcohol. Flavour is fruits, caramel, mild yeast. Quite dry bitterness. Sour wooden and spicy notes in the aftertaste.

Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Ruby/black, almost opaque, rocky head. Minty black currant and orange aroma. Mid-sweet with mdium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Hop driven, black currant domiantes, light notes of licorice underneath. Salty finish with growing bitterness.

Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a sark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy grapefruit aroma. Slightly roasted malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Long malty hoppy bitter grapefruit finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Very dark brown clear beer. Very frothy tan head. Soft palate but with a dry finish. Plenty of bitter grapefruit hops with no real complexity. A little soft malt. Drinkable.

Tap at Max’s. Brown with a medium white head. Aroma of chocolate and pepper. Flavor has fresh hops, lots of caramel and a smoke finish. Interesting.
