BillKismet (1477), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 23, 2008 A top-tier IPA. Not quite black, but a nearly opaque dark amber with a solid hopped head that mostly dissipates upon a few sips. Cascade hop burst greets the nose with wonderful floral and piny hoppiness. Mellifluous. Flavor is wonderful and full of Cascades and perhaps some balanced bittering Chinook. This belongs in the pantheon of IPA’s. Perfectly crafted from start to finish. A near perfect IPA experience.
GodOfThunder (160), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 4, 2008 Thanks to JMFG, I think. The smell is strong on the hops and vanilla, but the hops smell a little bit aged. The hops are still strong in the taste, though. Strong vanilla taste, also. Makes me think of a hopped up vanilla porter, or something. Interesting mix of flavors. mar (755), Dallas, Texas, USA Nov 26, 2008 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. black pour with a creamy head. very smooth on the palate with a good flavor of roasted malt and some slight hops. clean finish with some bitterness.
