COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The huckleberry is native to the Pacific Northwest and is prized for it’s sweetness and texture. To celebrate summer and the huckleberry picking season, we have blended real huckleberries with our cream ale. Smooth and creamy with a light touch of huckleberries, it would be great at the lake, a bbq or simply just relaxing away a long summer day. Just like the berries, Huckleberry Cream Ale with be available for your enjoyment for a limited time! You never know when it will be gone until next year

12oz bottle poured into glass. Tons of fruit in the aroma and flavor. Mostly huckleberry I assume, but it taste more like blueberry to be honest. Perhaps a little too sweet so I’d save it for dessert.

Very fresh (March 2013 bottling) 12 oz bottle with a trace of sediment in the bottom. pours a red-orange-amber; clear; small head that soon reduces to a tiny bi of film and a partial ring. S: Nice fruity smell; natural huckleberry is believable. Sweet but more fruity than like candy. Light baked bread in the background. Taste: Huckleberries!! Taste rating bumped up for the high quality fruit treatment here. Also features a bready malt base and a touch of hops. . M: nice smooth feel in this medium bodied ale. Well chosen, moderate level of carbonation. O: I had this as a light dessert beer and it worked well. Refreshing, with a pleasant, natural fruitiness. Sweet but not cloying or candied.

355ml bottle pours a golden color with a small white head that leaves very little lacing on the glass. Aroma is fresh berries and grains. Taste is a malty sweetness with a tartness from the berries and a dry finish. Light bodied with average carbonation. A decent brew for the style, with a pleasing aroma and an easy drinking ale.

I typically enjoy lighter beers & learned that Laughing Dog incoporates real huckleberries into a cream ale recipe. Each year the flavor and changes due to mother nature presenting a weather influenced berry. Some years the ale is floral and sweet. Other times a little more tart. But for sure you’ll experience fresh berry flavor in a smooth cream ale. I can only drink one as I’d rather go for the Pales and IPAs. Best served very cold and in hot weather.

Bottle. Light to moderate grain and hay for the malt, grass for the hops, light soap for the yeast with unripe pear, berries and a hint of vinegar in the background. Head is small, fizzy turning wispy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear light amber. Flavor starts faintly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidci. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively to fizzy carbonation and a lightly dry finish. Crisp and refreshing with a fruity background, but not much else to this Fruit Beer.

12oz bottle pours clear gold with tiny ring of white foam. The aroma has some berry notes mixing with a slight yeasty tartness and an even fainter note of sourness. At the end of the draw I get some sugary sweetness. All these aromatics seem to go OK together. The taste starts with a mix of berry notes, mild tartness, a faint sour fruitiness and then sugary sweetness. It ends with a bit of tartness that is able to poke through the sugary veil of table sugary like sweetness. This one really isn’t working for me.

Pour is a clear gold with a average white head. Aroma is a tart fruit and not much else. Flavor is some tart berry and a bland base beer. I don’t think I’ve ever had a huckelberry so I guess that is the fruity flavor in this. This beer is good for a sample only and I usually like stuff from this brewer.

Faint aroma of a sour gueuze with a little bit of berry sweetness. Color is hazy deep gold, but still light like apple juice. Nearly headless. Taste is sweet sharp berries, and dry like a white wine. Easy drinking, but would like a little more sweetness. Palate is a little buttery.
