COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first in our Purebred series of single hop A.P.A.s showcases the hop variety Citra. These are used for everything from bittering and flavor to aroma. The soft bitterness of the Citra hop makes this an extremely drinkable beer.

Draft labeled as IPA at Cherry Blossom Beer & Wine fest a week ago, orangy-golden color with light tan head. Aroma notes of strong tropical fruit/citrus hops (pineapple, lemon, grapefruit). Taste adds caramel, peach and grass notes. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation, dry with bitter citrus/pine finish. Nice citra IPA.

Bomber.

Gold-orange pour. Pineapple and grapefruit pith, malts relatively forward. Decent but not an exceptional APA.

T: Candied tropical fruit and peach are dominant. P: Crisp and bubbly. O: It’s very fruity. Laughing Dog made another excellent beer.

Bottle: Light golden-orange color with a large khaki head. Plenty of sheet lacing throughout. Nose is a light citrus and tropical fruit blend; modest caramel malt in the background. Similar translates to the flavor profile, but I found some earthy floral notes have crept in. Good citrus and nice use of the citra as the showcase. Easy drinker.

Nice golden pour with a good foam head and decent lacing. Aroma is pure tropical citrus. Strong notes of citrus fruits and pine. Good hoppy bitterness. A great IPA!

Rating #1064 - April 23, 2014 - #mondaynightbeers - 8 oz on draught @RevolutionYEG. Dark amber pour with a bubbly, lasting white foam. Aroma is sweet lemony, mild grassiness.Taste is a blast of citrusy sweetness, tempered by a decent punch of hoppy bitterness. Not unbelievably memorable, but a decent APA for a single-hop showcase.

Keg at World of Beer Charlottesville, 10/15/14. Pours a clear yellow with a thin creamy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus, candied citrus, tropical fruits, lime, lemongrass, pale malt. The taste is tropical, herbal, citrus hops, pale crackery malt. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

On draught at the Winston in Saskatoon. Pours fairly clear amber, decent head that flattens out, lots of lacing. Smells of pine, sweet toffee and lemon citrus. Taste is malty biscuit with a good balance of mild citrus hop. Easy drinking with moderate complexity. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
