COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first in our Purebred series of single hop A.P.A.s showcases the hop variety Citra. These are used for everything from bittering and flavor to aroma. The soft bitterness of the Citra hop makes this an extremely drinkable beer.

Pours a clear amber with a large dull white head that leaves decent lace and lasts quite some time. Aroma is pine, tropical fruits, and some floral notes. Flavour is resin, pine, citrus, decent malty backbone, medium bitterness that lingers a little, and a malty sweetness in the mix. Pretty tasty brew.

Bottle:   Orangish straw, hazy, huge pillowy off-white head, nice lacing.   Candyish citrus peel and pith on the nose.   Pale citrusy notes on the tongue, light sweetness, not all that hoppy.   Has a strong powdery sugar sweetness to it.   Light to moderate body and mouthfeel.   Finishes like a very airy and sweet pale Pale Ale.   Not all that bitter or hoppy.   Those aspects seem a bit sweeter, in a candyish sense, while not being malty.   Lingering powdery sugar sweetness, with very little hop presense.   Meh... too sweet, powdery, and not enough hops.   Not that often I complain of a Pale Ale being too pale, but this is one of those times.   Still somewhat enjoyable.

Nice beer overall. A floral and very citric Ipa with a ton of lemony and grapefruit notes. Sweet caramel malts with light green hop notes and tons of grapefruit. The finish is bitter but reserved a bit with nice lingering hop resin and bitter notes.

Bottle - Fresh pine and little else. Clear gold with a thin white head. Pine and resin, with a balanced bitterness. Nice but one sided, as expected with a single hop. The resin is a bit overwhelming and lingers.

22. Pours a cloudy burnished dark amber with a loose white head. Lots of lace. Biscuity toasty nose. Not much else. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Toasty mid palate, mild caramel, lots of biscuit. Nutty finish. More of an ESB, really.

650ml bomber bottle pours a clear golden color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some nice lacing rings on the glass. Aroma is quite pleasant with a definite citrus note and some other light fruits. Taste is a grapefruit hop bitterness with some tropical fruity and malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with good carbonation. A very flavorful pale ale that is nicely balanced and worth checking out.

650ml brown bottle. Gold pour, crystal clear. Fat white cap that lasts a long time, good patchy lacework. Hoppy nose with citrus and light tropical notes. Taste has orange peel and grass and mild tropical sweet notes, malt character is rather neutral. Dry finish, quite clean, light lingering bitterness, a bit of grass and grapefruity hops lingering. Decent carbonation and light bodied. A good single hopped sessionable ale that features the Citra hops well.

Poured in to a pint glass from a 22oz bottle. Orangeish/gold with a frothy off white head; 1-2 fingers with good retention. Definitely smells like a Citra pale: citrus, peach, honey, piney hops. Taste follows aroma: orange, lemon, peach, piney and a strong biscuity/malt backbone. Medium body, leaves tongue coated with straight bitterness and mouth is dry. Overall, one of the better beers in this category that Iíve had. Itís no ZD, not nearly as delicate. Definitely drinkable and cool that itís semi-local. Definitely worth trying.
