COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
No wonder there’s a hop shortage. Brewed special for the OBF, Rocket Dog launches four types of hops at five different intervals into this brew. Roasted barley and rye, pale and Munich malts give this beer a red tint. Fermented a little on the dry side, this thirst-quencher is a hop lover’s dream.

beer 2 of 5 from the "I Had to Not use Hot Water for 4 Months to Afford Beer" Review tour. I’ve already drank half the bottle in about 10 mins. 15 mins later I’m yawning and blinking long. Light and hazy, wondeeful lacing. Exciting aroma - funky, sweet candy, lemon lime, fizzy grapefruit, very sweet orange, pine, decent base. Tastes good enough NOT to review. I’d rather just enjoy this. Orange, sweet grapefruit, rye yumminess, pine in and out, the funk has been replaced by melon and tropical things, caramel, lots of carbonation, tons of bitterness, excellent. Love these Laughing Dog IPA’s. something in here reminds me of some of the Alley Kat Dragon ipa’s. Perfect IPA? Probably not but this is my kind of shit.

Bottle thanks to artmcd. Poured cloudy yellow orange light lace and head. Kind of sour aroma. Funky slightly bitter taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

If head is your thing, this is your beer. Rocky and white, and laces. Orange colored and slightly hazy. Grapefruit aroma, but doesn’t come through in the taste. Bitter to be an IPA, but very bright for a "Rye." I guess that is why it is categorized here rather than a specialty grain beer.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy with a frothy top fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a strong bubbly carbonation transparent yellow orange colored body and a very good lacing. The mild aroma was Brett and dough. The bubbly mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of citrus hops and bread dough. A wonderful best in class brew.

On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso. Very solid IPA. Rye isn't overbearing, balanced hops with a little citrus sweetness. Overall a five beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber into a tulip. Pours slightly hazy gold with a slight white head that leaves modest lacing. Aroma is big and spicy with a bit of pine and citrus. Taste is BIG on the spicy rye with a piney finish and a bit of tropical fruits. Nice, crisp, and dry. Great warm weather beer.

Bottle. Pale yellow pour with white, frothy head. Smells very hoppy with grapefruit notes. Tastes bitter with a lingering grapefruit like flavor. Good ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Orange-amber with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the pine and biscuit malt. The rye really comes through in the flavor and it is complimented by some wheat, orange citrus and pine. Low to medium bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Has a slightly off nose for me. There are some hop aromas for sure, but there’s a sour note in there that I can’t quite place, almost like formaldehyde or a sterile doctor’s office. It’s a bit hazy, and a golden-yellow color. The flavor comes through solidly, but this is definitely a sweeter IPA. The mouthfeel gives that nice, dull numbness that hoppy, high-ABV beers leave. Overall I’ve got to say that I was a disappointed in this beer, especially given the ratings and word-of-mouth compliments I’d heard going in. I’ll give this disclaimer: mine erupted in a foam bomb upon opening, so it’s entirely possible that I got a bad one here.
