Not bad. One I had was bottled June 2012. Would be better fresh. Munich hops appear the strongest aroma wise. Might try the fresher one next time.

bottle - discovered at Total Wine in FL. Very nice RYE IPA. The rye did not take away from the big hops. Nice beer

kay retention with great lacing for the entire glass... the brew is a polished deep golden. Nose is chock full of resinous hops.. very fruity with a lesser piney hoppiness.. pale malts and hints of toast are there, but only in the background. Good bitterness up front.. hoppy flavors move in pretty quickly with a pronounced floral profile combining well with the fruity hops.. the pine is much less than the aroma... the malts again have a distinct toasty profile... not getting any real "rye" other than an interesting slickness in the palate that I can only assume is from the rye malt. Lite/medium body with nice carbonation that seems deflated (in a good way) by the slick mouthfeel.

With Z, a bomber, pours a rusty orange color with a sudsy white head. Nose is citrus, and spicy rye. Taste is spicy and yeasty with some funk ! It tastes more like a saison than an IPA, although it has been sitting for dome time in the back of my beer cellar. Finish is spicy and dry and ends on the same tasting notes ! Quaff Score 7 / 10

Bomber. Pours a golden orange with an off white head and spiced rye aroma. Taste is spicy as well, with yeast, rye, hops, and malt into the spiced, slightly bitter finish.

Deep yellow Color with a huge frothy head on top. Intense citrus and a bit grape nose. Grapefruit herbal bitter first kick. A bit of safe in the end , building up in intensity as you sip more. Medium bodied .

Big foamy head. Sour nose with a tangy middle and gritty end. Interesting mix of sour and bitter.

Appearance: clear pale amber with two fingers of rocky ivory head, good retention and spotty lacing. (3/5) Aroma: pine resin, rye, citrus, doughy yeast. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderately strong bitter, light sour. (7/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, lingering bitter finish. (4/5) A decent rye IPA. I tend to like this style, particularly how the sharpness of the rye complements the IPA bitterness. And yeah, this one does that, but in a slightly blunt fashion. It’d be nice to still get some bright citrus going on, and I’m not really getting that here. Good, not great. (14/20)

2015-06-05. Orange body with a small white head. 3+ Aroma has good amount of rye, almost but not quite licorice like herbal touch. Flavour is interesting, mildly fruity and lightly bitter, the rye comes through more than expected, with a slightly sharp grainy quality. Moderate bitterness. Average plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. Decent but I’m not sure I want a pint of it. On tap at Edmonton Craft Beer Festival.

Pours a clear dark gold color. It has nice lacing and a frothy bit of head retention. Has a malty aroma with hints of rye bread with it. Tastes like rye and malt. A good, solid rye beer!
