This is a dark hoppy IPA that is smooth and filling. It is very hoppy and statifying. Nice aroma as well.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a slim fingerís worth of white foaminess that quickly dissipated leaving some stringy lacing roaming here and there.
The smell had a decent sweet grapefruit with a slight grassiness and a decent caramel malt backbone.
The taste copied the smell and brought in a slight extra citrus to give off a slight bittersweet appeal. A bitter citrus aftertaste leads to a quick dry caramel/citrus finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a more sipping quality about it. The carbonation seemed fairly rounded out, slightly smooth and didnít have the expected punch that I wanted in a DIPA.
Overall, at 10% and lack of harshness, Iím wondering if this was old. I didnít see any date on the bottle, probably only have again if I knew it was fresh.

Draft sample at the Cherry Blossom Beer & Wine fest a week ago, orangy-amber color with off-white head. Aroma notes of grapefruity/citrus/herbal hops and caramel malt sweetness. Taste adds pine/resin, bread and faint honey sweetness. Moderate-heavy body, low-moderate carbonation, thick, dry, sticky with bitter grass/citrus hop finish. Nice strong DIPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very tasty with good aroma of sweetness. Golden color, but without much head or lacing. It could use more carbonation. High alcohol content of 10%.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ the brewpub, the first stop on TvMís Bachelor Party Northwest Ale Trail Expedition. Light orange, average white head. Big aroma of candyish ripe tropical fruits, hints of Swedish Berries. Sweet palate, with loads of oily hoppy goodness, mango, papaya, ending with an intense bitterness, boozy undertones.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Laughing Dog Sneaky Pete Imperial IPA has a thin, white head, a semi-clear, orange-gold appearance, and almost no lacing left behind. The aroma is of strong, caramel, and flowers (nectar). Taste is of white bread, bread crust, sweetness, high (yet, not harsh) bitterness, and hop oils. Mouthfeel is medium, and Laughing Dog Sneaky Pete Imperial IPA finishes on the dry side and drinkable (for a 10% ale). RJT

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma: Interesting. Baked apples, orange, molasses, Slight boozy smell.
Appearance: Opaque, cloudy orange. Looks like unfiltered apple cider. Thin. Gorgeous, thick, creamy, coffee colored, two-finger head that disappeared slowly. Thick lacing.
Taste: Bitter hops, sweet finish. Earthy. Slight tinge of alcohol in the front. Complex. Maybe some pine.
Palate: Dry, bitter.
Overall: I poured this 12 oz. bottle into a glass in which I like to drink beer. From aroma to taste, this is an interesting beer. I could not quite identify whether I liked this beer or not. I change my mind after each drink - itís not good, then itís wonderfully different. I would love to taste this on tap. RateBeer member nj_BierMaven probably summed up my indecision best, "Sweet malty almost like a Scoth Ale", without the booze. #respectbeerbrethren
