4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Arayaga2 (1502) - Philadelphia, USA - APR 23, 2011
Even-toned reddish copper with a cm of white head. Aroma is beautiful tangeriney simcoe plus rich caramel malt. Taste is just as it smell, but with an added spicy buzz and mild roast into the finish. $3/12oz
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 boxofrane (422) - pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 3, 2012
Bottle. Pours copper with a small off-white head, tons of carbonation, and very sticky lacing. Aroma is very citrus with a ton of grapefruit and some honey sweetness. The taste is medium bitter and has a ton of sweetness on the finish. There is a ton of honey flavor in the finish. Very sticky mouthfeel. Really good but there is too much hype on this brew IMO.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 pras (35) - Maryland, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Beer has a bit too much sugar for my tastes. Could use more hop bitterness. Not my favorite representation of the style.

Earthy hops pretty much dominate the aroma with a light spice in the back. dark shade of amber with a moderate white top. Taste is strong, piney hops and alcohol upfront followed quickly by a caramel and nutty malt backbone. Noticable carbination with a balance between syrupy and thin palate. Overall, this is a flavorful IPA with a powerful kick and strong alcohol presence. I would recommend this to a friend. I’d give this an A rating.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy very dark orange with about a finger of off-white head. Aroma of citrus hops and sweet caramel malt. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Citrus, grapefruit, caramel and honey. Medium bodied with a sticky and thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. I would gladly drink this again any day.

Tap. Pours hazy copper with average, creamy white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is oranges, caramel and cookie malt, citrus fruit, floral hops, and pine. Flavor is balanced malt and hops (light bitterness) with supporting citrus esters; dry finish. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 gpekar (410) - Maryland, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Not your typical Imperial IPA hop bomb. The beer poured an orange tinted amber with a tall creamy khaki head. There is a nice caramel malt aroma with some light orange citrus and a hint of chocolate. The beer had a thick creamy texture and a blast of caramel malt flavor initially. There is a good building hops bite and alcohol flavor that comes through the dominating caramel malt flavor. The hops and alcohol leave a nice bitterness that calms the malt flavor well into the palate along with a warmth from the alcohol. A nice bit of lacing is left throughout the glass.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mansquito (1825) - washington, Washington DC, USA - MAY 25, 2012
Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria cask ($7): Pours a brownish color with a beige head. Aroma is mostly malts, with some citrus touches. Overall, this beer is super weird. It doesn’t really strike me as an IIPA, because it has very little in the way of hops. Well, that is not fair; it has hops, but they are not at all aggressive. Kind of sweet. A malt bomb. The cask pour makes it even weirder. I don’t know if I liked this, but it was a good alcohol delivery system, considering the high alcohol was perfectly covered up.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 SamP01 (243) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Pours a caramel colored cloudy amber with a medium lasting tan head, good lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, yeast, earthy piney hops, with some sweet fruity alcohol esters fill the senses. Taste of caramel malt, yeast, candied brown sugar, dark fruity flavors with some earthy piney resiny hops. Palate is full body, smooth and slightly sticky mouth feel, with moderate carbonation. Finish is sweet caramel malts, yeast, dark fruits followed by some good earthy piney and resiny hops for balance, ending in a lingering sweet alcohol and caramel flavor. The alcohol @ 10 abv seems to be well hidden making for a smooth drinking brew with a good malty background. Overall a very good, enjoyable, and well balanced and tasty DIPA. Very nice
