3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A nice copper hue with a tan head that had mild retention and lace. Some yeast sediment at the bottom gave it slightly more body, Aroma had a nice caramel malt base upfront. There was a woody quality that reminded me of a barley wine. Some dank hops, a nice dose of grapefruit hops and a touch of pine. Flavor had a heavy sweet malt presence upfront. The Hops cut right through it. The subtle blend of citrus and resinous pine seemed to balance out the beer. A nice sweetness in the finish. Nice mouth feel. Alcohol seemed hidden...sneaky?

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Aroma: maltier than expected for an IIPA; Appearance: clear amber pour with billowy white head that dissipates slowly; good lacing; Taste: also much maltier than expected. Perhaps bottle too old? Palate: medium-heavy body with long, sweet with lightly bitter finish; Overall: okay but odd take on an IIPA. Would not get again.

Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of HOPS, and some other hints, maybe fruit, maybe coffee. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and hoppy as hell.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A reddish copper DIPA with a thin lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of resinous floral hops, alcohol warmth, some vinous character like a barleywine, musky and complex. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with vinous notes, dark fruits, plums, licorice, resinous and piney hops, tropical fruit, very nice. Still solid after 3 years.

I poured this into...who cares? Why do people ramble on about what kind of glass they are pouring their beer in and all that...who the fuck cares you pretentious tool?! Bottom line, put it in a drinking vessel, smelled like hops, went down well over a period of time and 22oz of it made my face numb. Overall a great drinking experience for 99 cent bomber at my local retailer. That’s right, found me a deal.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12-oz. bottle. Malt-heavy nose with caramel and rich toffee tones and a touch of hoppy pine resin. Deep sunset orange color. Sharp pine bitterness bites hard upon the first sip before a sweet orange flavor and a hint of honey temper it somewhat. Traces of alfalfa and old stale barley come into play. Slick mouthfeel with a very abrupt dry finish. Not very impressive at all.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On cask at Churchkey beer bar, D.C. It.looks great, smell is super west coast dipa piney, mouthfeel is smooth almost oily. Taste is a good balance between hops and malt. I’ve liked what I’ve had by Laughing Dog in the past and this is no exception. Would buy this again.
