3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from Sendiks in Brookfield, aged 6 months, shared with ck1. Pours chunky black with a tan head. Some drops of lace. Aroma has oak and chococaramel. With bourbon Taste is of bakers chocolate, roasted malt, and oak. Medium to full bodied. Finishes sweetly bitter and oak-y. With some length. Shrug, liked the chocolate oak blend - similar to a Oaked Yeti. It was good, bit not quite as good as I was expecting/hoping.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
651 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, well retained, mocha head , with moderate lacing, over a black (SRM 40) body.....nose is Bourbon, chocolate coffee, light toffee/caramel.....taste is light Bourbon, chocolate, sweet toffee.caramel leading to light plum ,raisin, moderate hop bitterness with roasted malt bite......mouth feel thick, creamy, slightly sticky, slightly astringent, alcohol warmth present, carbonation adds to creamy texture. The Bourbon was done with a relatively light hand, and, as such, adds to the malt backbone complexity. The heavy malts are balanced back by the roasted malt and hop bitterness. It is light on the umami aspect of Imperial Stouts. BJCP 8/3/15/5/8

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Ashur Liquor: Appeared dark black used motor oil with a thick rising foam cap which eventually fluffed out of existence. Aroma was faint with minor traces of light roast malt and earthy wood. The drink is strong with boozy bourbon whiskey flavors and it shows on my blood alcohol level as I am feeling very buzzed on only one bomber.

Deep dark body with caramel tan head - good lacing.
The barrel flavors come through nicely without being overpowering. Wonderful beer - cheers to the folks at Laughing Dog. Nicely done

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep black pour with orange-tan head. Nose smells like cheap vanilla, licorice, degraded hops, brown sugar, toffee, spearmint, and faint bourbon. Flavor is a deep roasted malt with plenty of bitter chocolate/cacao nibs, light licorice, and a dry oaky/faint bourbon finish. Gritty, big mouthfeel. Was surprised by the flavor on this one and at the price, certainly was a steal.

Stouts III Tasting. Opaque black - brown big tan head. Softish palate with fine carbonation. Minerally carbonation. Mellow chocolate, dark malt and a bourbon. Mild lactose. Chocolate finish. Pretty decent but I seemed to be the only one to dig it. Probably shoulda had this before the big Bruery’s!

Bottle @ Stouts Tasting Pt III: Brokeback Edition. Cheers Kenny. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny khaki head. The nose is berry comoote. Oak. Chocolate. Some roasted coffee bean and cocoa. The taste is accented by peppery hops. Hints of bourbon. Big charred malt body. Soft sweetness. Mediumm body, a bit abrasive. Overall, a bit of a comedown. All bark and no bite.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber pour to snifter. Aroma had some sour milk to it, but not in the taste. Dry, roast coffee taste; smooth, simple. Okay, but not outstanding in any way.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Stout 3 & Freestyle Tasting, thanks to Ken. It pours very dark brown with a small tan head. The nose is rather sweet.... caramel, roasted malt, coffee ice-cream, toast and molasses. The taste is roasted malt, earth, toast, dark fruit, tangy berry, cocoa, caramel, ash, some alcohol warmth and light jamminess. Medium-full body and fine carbonation. Pretty decent imperial stout.
