3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle, PDT 11/14/14- Pours black with a tan head that retains nicely. Aroma is bourbon, unique wood aroma here, strong, malt, roasted. The taste is similar, odd wood taste, bourbon is noticeable but not intruding, dark berries, red wine like, almost tart, like some unintended bugs got in there. Different.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. The pour is black. The aroma is an odd sour bourbon. The taste is also a little off, the stout even seems a little thin. Kinda boring.

Black with a dark brown head. Aroma and taste of boubon and sweet chocolate. Finish is a little bitter. Pretty good.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a dark brown to black colour with a toffee head that left lacing. Aroma is sweet milk chocolate, roasted coffee, and warm bourbon. Taste is coffee upfront with soft notes of chocolate and burnt malts with the encompassing hints of bourbon. Medium full bodied with moderate carbonation and an assertive malt bitterness. Definitely a sipping beer. Strong bourbon notes are a feature which seems inviting on the nose, but aggressive on the tongue. Very boozy and quite a one timer.

On tap. First thing that hits the nose is bourbon, wow. Didnít realize it was the bourbon barrel stout when I ordered (didnít say on menu), but obvious as soon as you pull it towards your lips. Pours thin and dark with little head. Taste is boozy, like pouring am imperial stout into a glass previously filled with bourbon. Good beer, they hit the mark with this one. The one to have when youíre only having one.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thinner dark brown with no real head. Big boozy aroma, some marshmallow and oak. Very boozy even for 11%, whisky and burnt coffee. Kind of a nice sipping beer but itís too sweet and too boozy and too thin. So I guess itís not? I donít know I like it

Pitch black pour with big burnt toast, woodsy barrel and some mint on the aroma. Has a little soapy note that iím not enjoying either. Those burnt toast and coffee grounds are present in the palate, a bit of alcohol burn. Has a sort of boring character. Not bad but I was expecting more.

On tap @ the brewpub, the first stop on TvMís Bachelor Party Northwest Ale Trail Expedition. Okay, minus a point straight off for serving this in a schooner pilsener glass. Dark walnut brown, ring of white foam. Massive sweet rye aroma, eclipsing everything else. This is like smelling a bottle of Crown Royal! The same on the palate: hot, boozy sweet rye, with the base stout peeking out. Even with passing this around the group it remained unfinished.
