This yearís Dogfather Imperial Stout will all be aged in charred bourbon barrels. Seven malt varieties and subtle hop additions give it a complex flavor profile.

Predicable. Yeah, itís very bourbon, but the beer lacks some depth and body. The bourbon flavor is really on showcase here and really isnít what I was looking for... aroma is bourbon with some roasted coffee notes. Taste is mostly bourbon with roasted coffee and faint vanilla.

Black pour with thick small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and bourbon notes, Taste of roasted malts, espresso, sweetened chocolate, caramel, vanilla and a nice subtle bourbon finish. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel, well balanced, excellent beer!

Black pour. Fat beige head. Nice lacing. Coffee, cocoa. Initial bourbon noted that strengthens as it warms and lingers on the palate.

Excellent bourbon barrel stout. Good on the pallet and a nice finish. Had it in draft at city tap in DC.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2015 Awesome stout, huge coffee notes along with a burnt malt flavour - the bourbon barrels give it a bite!

12oz tulip glass on tap at Beer Revolutionís Edmonton location pours black in color with a small light brown head which leaves spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is bourbon, chocolate and coffee with some roasted grain notes. Taste is chocolate malty sweetness with a roasted grain bitterness and citrus hop bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A well crafted brew that is a good example of the style and definitely recommended.

Great nose with hints of a Hunapu. Taste like a more expensive beer; good value. A little bit to sparkly.

Dark and thick and complex. Sweet but not too much. The bourbon barrel taste is present but not overwhelming. Surprisingly easy to drink for such a big beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

"My favorite style and even substyle of brew. While this isnít among the ELITE, it IS pretty damn good, and at $6.99, this is the "everyday" BB stout in this area. Velvety smooth feel, if a little sweet. The aroma would be a 7.5 and the feel an 8.5 if i could do so. The flavor is similar to the aroma but thereís a little tiny offness to the aroma (vegetal) not present in the flavor. Very chocolate/mocha forward with a good dose of vanilla from the barrels and notiecable hops. Pretty nice brew that disappears wuick at nearly 11%. WAAAAY better than the fíd up bottle of the base beer that Iíll never bother with again as long as this one is around."

22oz bottle: This one pours a opaque, very dark brown color. It has a light brown head, and no lacing. A bit of bourbon to the nose. Some oakiness also. Getting some chocolate malts also, but no sweetness. Some vanilla and roasted malts also. The taste is good. Some bourbon and alcohol flavors. Chocolate, hint of vanilla, some roasted malts and some of the oakiness. Not bitter, but they have balanced out most of the sweetness. Not bad!
