COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
I got a brew you can’t refuse. The Dogfather is one of the biggest brew we have ever made, weighing in a 10.85% alcohol. 7 malts and 4 hops give it a complex flavor profile. Over 11 month in the making some of the DogFather has been barrel aged. This is a very limited release with only 40 keg equivalents in draft and only 300 case made.

Bottle. Pours a deep black color with a nice tan head. Nice, springy aroma! Some raisins and roasted malt are the first things that come to mind. Nice roasted flavor. Malt, oats, and a hint of coffee. Light fruity notes as well. Pretty solid stout!

The odd label pays tribute to the movie poster for The Godfather movie. Classic stout pour. Dusty coffee and dark chocolate aroma, with some yeast and greenery. Hoppy, intense, full-flavored stout - Turkish coffee, cola, cigar tobacco. Just a little too heavy on the hops, I think. It might really be great after a couple of years in the cellar.

Mmm... this is a good one. Very dark and SUPER heady, this has some coffee notes to it that and a slight bourbon profile that the barrel-aged brews have. This is a great one. I like it.

Cocoa notes at beginning. A little coffee. Smoothe, but slightly burnt. Nice stout, but not one of my favorites.

Originally reviewed: 6/23/09. 2008 Vintage poured into my snifter. Pours a thick deep black with a large frothy tan head on top. Excellent retention leaves some spotty lacing. Not much though. Smells of nice roasted malts, chocolate, and fresh espresso. The mouth is very creamy and smooth. Well-done there. This is how I like my big stouts, almost need to chew it. The flavor is interesting. Very resiny and sharp. Getting some leather and soy sauce in there as well. The roastedness is there in the mouth, but very subtle, unlike the nose. Some mild cocoa, but predominately it’s sour and different. I should have let this age a bit more I guess. This is just a little too different for me

Poors dark with a brown head. Taste is chocolate, caramel, and roast malts. The finish has just the right amount of hoppy bitterness. This is a really good imperial stout.

Pours a very thick black with a nice cappuccino head. Lots of chocolate in the nose with notes of espresso, cocoa, brownies, and fudge. The taste is much like the nose. Rich chocolatey malt with light sweetness and a long bitter finish. Very smooth with a creamy mouthfeel. This is great.

Pours pitch black with some darkish brown fizz. Smells of chocolate, coffee, and hints of hops. Taste has chocolate, coffee, and hints of licorice. Full-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Laughing Dog The Dogfather Imperial Stout finishes with hints of coffee bitterness.

Smell is vanilla, boozy and nice. Pouts dark, with a light brown head. Mouthfeel is a bit light, given how dark the beer is. Tastes very nice, boozy hoppy toffee chocolate - nice!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
