Bomber: Thanks Blazay: Split in two: Served in a Chouffe glass at roomtemperature:
Black beer with a mocha brown head.
Aromas of oatmeal, loquorice, herbal roast, vinous, sweet bay leaf, cookies, cloves an for some reason I have to think about dog food...
Flavours of spices like cloves, bay leaf and rosemary, roast, liquorice, bitters, malt roast, bread/rye, some sweetwood/liquorice wood and prunes.
Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, liquorice, spices and some prunes.
Low carbo, light watery mouthfeel, close to full bodied.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aged bottle - pours black with flecks of brown, thin tan head. Aroma is sweet chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, and a hint of booze...inviting. Flavor is quite sweet...lots of chocolate flavors along with a mash of malts...little bitterness to offset things. Splash of vanilla, but not really getting any bourbon/barrel aging. Carbonation is good given the age/style - alcohol very well hidden. I actually enjoyed this stout, even if it wasn’t what I was really expecting in some ways. Definitely on the sweet end of the spectrum, even for the style...

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with a thin espresso head. Aroma of milk and sugar, a little smoke. Taste is bitter and has a nice bite to it. Hints of dark chocolate. Not getting much oak from the barrel aged portion. Not overly sweet, which is nice for a stout like this. Medium mouth.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a typical stout "black" with a thick tannish head. Aroma of chocolate, smells really sweet. Taste of "burnt" chocolate (I’ve never tasted burnt chocolate) really sweet can’t taste the booze. Overall probably the sweetest stout I have ever had, not bad though.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Well balanced with the coffee and chocolate notes expected from the style. Warming and big and nearly black with a good backbone of bitterness to offset the malt. It is tough for me to find, so it was a nice treat on a cold afternoon.
