3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not a huge bourbon fan, but I do like this beer! Nice dark pour with a dark tan head. Aroma up front was straight bourbon. After it warmed a bit you get the roasted aromas as well. The taste has that chocolatey bitterness and roasty flavor, but it still has that sweetness and warmth from the bourbon.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: clear deep brown with a fat finger of dense tan head, decent retention and minimal lacing. (3/5) Aroma: slightly harsh whiskey, dark fruit, dark chocolate, brown sugar. (7/10) Taste: moderately strong sweet, moderately strong bitter. (7/10) Palate: full body, low carbonation, lingering hot and bitter finish. (4/5)
Big and boozy, even for an imperial stout, and not perfectly done - yeah, Iím definitely getting the bourbon barrel, but it could be smoother. Thereís an edge to the aroma that initially comes across as solvent... which, I guess, alcohol is. Not a complete washout, mind you - and it improves as it warms up... and as you warm up... (14/20)

Bottle. Dark brown, solid head. Strange chemical/plastic aroma overshadows the rest. Chocolate, banana, woody, vegetal taste, medium mouthfeel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear dark brown with a good sized beige head. This beer is actually pretty light and clear for an imperial stout. Aromas of dark fruit, raisins, malts and brown sugar. Smells dark. Very strong, dense flavor. Chocolate, molasses and a bit of coffee. A bit of an alcohol flavor, which isnít surprising given the ABV, but is a bit too bad nonetheless. If you want an imperial stout with a lot of flavor (in a good way) this is a good one to try.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black pour with cocoa colored creamy head. Lots of flavors going on in this- fruits (berries), some oak, faint bourbon, bit of smoke, almost a lactose type sweetness. Mouth feel is slick, oily. Thought, and wanted it to be chewy. Iím not a fan. The flavors donít meld together well enough.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aged bottle - pours black with flecks of brown, thin tan head. Aroma is sweet chocolate, vanilla, roasted malts, and a hint of booze...inviting. Flavor is quite sweet...lots of chocolate flavors along with a mash of malts...little bitterness to offset things. Splash of vanilla, but not really getting any bourbon/barrel aging. Carbonation is good given the age/style - alcohol very well hidden. I actually enjoyed this stout, even if it wasnít what I was really expecting in some ways. Definitely on the sweet end of the spectrum, even for the style...

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with a thin espresso head. Aroma of milk and sugar, a little smoke. Taste is bitter and has a nice bite to it. Hints of dark chocolate. Not getting much oak from the barrel aged portion. Not overly sweet, which is nice for a stout like this. Medium mouth.
