COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION The Portland Art Museum asked our Head Brewer to make a special beer based on a piece of art from their permenant collection. The painting Chad chose was Homesteaders Arthur Runquist 1939. The Work Progress Administration sponsored piece inspired Chad to brew a beer with sugar sources from the Pioneers’ time and ferment it in a quasi-historical way. This amber ale uses not only traditional malted barley but also gets it’s sugar from corn, molasses and Oregon clover honey. The beer was also fermented with a small portion of Oregon Oak to recreate the fermentation methods of yesteryear. This is truly a unique brew.
