COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What you hold in your hand is a very special beer. Unlike most of the beers we produce- meant to be consumed fresh as possible, our Framboise takes nearly two years to create. This Belgian-style ale starts out like most many beers undergoing a two-week fermentation process. From there, things go radically different. The beer was moved to wooden barrels where we added Oregon raspberries and several types of “wild” yeast and bacteria to give create this unique beer

750ml bottle thanks to Arbitrator. Clear watery red pour with a minimal head. Doesn’t look great. Some floaties in the beer. Aroma is very nice though, with big sharp raspberry and funk. The flavor is very good if a little weak. Big raspberry juice with medium tartness and a little funk. Better as it warms, and slightly bacterial. Rather light on the palate with carbonation a little low for the style. Pretty tasty stuff, if a little weak in some ways.

Bottle at James’ tasting. Pours orangey pink with a fizzy head. Fruity and acidic aroma with light woody notes. The flavor has low/medium acidity, some berry sweetness, and a little bit of wood. Pretty good.

Bottle shared at my house. Pours light raspberry pink with off white head. Nose/taste of nutty malt, tart raspberry, red currants and oak. Moderate acidity and a bit earthy. Medium body.

Bottle at a tasting at James’ place. Pours a hazed ruby amber with no head to speak of. Soft raspberry and funk, a little bit of acid and nutty acetone. A touch of raspberry, a bit of acid. Light acid and funk on the finish.

Small white head over copperish-red coloured beer. Superb alcohol/fusels/(red)fruit nose, raspberries aged on wood and alcohol, touch of blue cheese - phenomenal nose. Old raspberries, cucumber, alcohol, raspberryliqueur, rounded off by fruitacidity. Fine champenoise pearling, light body but alcoholpunch. Superb raspberrybeer - probably one of the finest I’ve ever tasted that was not lambic-based. Thanks to ToddH.! - also from VACAS

750 ml bottle; thanks Brandon; pours a lovely soft pink color and clear upon pour with trace white head; aromas of cream cheese, raspberries, light oak and vanilla; drinks like desert to me; yummy raspberry cheesecake with graham crackers and dry oak; yum

Pours a bright pink with a fizzy white head. Lots of raspberry and belgian yeast esters in the aroma. Flavor has lots of raspberry and is pretty acidic. Champange-like carbonation and light-medium body. The raspberry acidity bit pretty hard on the palate but I still really liked this beer. Would have liked it to have a little funk or must.

Big thanks to starrdogg for sharing this bottle at last night’s tasting. Served in a SAVOR wine glass. Pours a nice reddish-pink color with an average-sized light pink head. Sparse and spotty lacing on the way down. The nose carries heavy raspberry with a bit of earth and funk, plus a touch of oak. The flavor has a bit too much raspberry. It’s really heavy there, which seems to be a common theme among raspberry wilds. There’s simply too much acidity coming from the berries themselves, and the flavor overmatches almost everything else in the beer. With that said, there was a bit of funky earth in the background, though I’d say this would be much better with only half or two-thirds the amount of raspberries. Light body with acidity and crisp carbonation. A bit too much fruit and acidity. Good beer; I especially enjoyed the nose.

Thanks to someone for bringing the 750mL bottle. Poured really, really pink and cloudy, with a loose white head. The aroma picked up sour raspberry, lemon rind, and oak above all else.. warm, spicy kick on the back.. very good nose. The flavor found sour raspberry seeds and oak upfront, with more lemon rind hitting on the middle.. sour and puckering with some funk and more fruit through the finish.. great blend of stuff. Medium-bodied and sour throughout.. very dry.. this was a pleasant surprise!
