COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Green Elephant is green because it’s made from organic malts, and elephant because of the Amarillo, Ahtanum and organic Cascade hops. It’s medium-bodied with a subtle malt underpining and an explosive hop flavor and bitterness. Dang, the elephant is hoppy.

Bomber at 6.9%. Copper amber color with a thin beige head. Aromas seem floral, citrus and resin. Medium body with prickly carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt with a lot of hop. Finish is almost balanced but hops rule. Really good drink.

22oz bottle. Poured a medium and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, some citrus, and pine. Tastes of citrus, earthiness, floral, and some maltiness. Light to medium bitter with a lighter sweetness. Light lacing left on the glass.

Bomber poured a clear copper with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of earthiness, pine, carmel, mango, orange and a hint of grapefruit. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a slightly dry finish. Flavors of pine, carmel, orange, light earthiness, light mango and a hint of grapefruit with a crisp lingering moderatly bitter finish.

Pours a transparent bronze orange with a stringy wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet lightly biscuity caramel malt and grassy earthy green hops. Body starts fairly full and caramely sweet with some citrusy grassy hops and a drier, semi-bitter grassy finish. An ok IPA, but could use more hop balance and grapefruity character.

22oz bottle pours rusty orange in color with a light haze. Fresh, green herb (mint, basil, thyme) scented hop nose, along with some pillowy, earthy but light yeast notes. Resinous, earthy, nutty hop flavor; some caramel and chewy maple malt flavors, but largely light to medium in body, nearly thin. Okay overall, could be better.

My Bottom Line:
A divinely boastful hop bouquet proffers piney, resinous jocundity as its grassy alluvia seep into tender and sweet cereals. This PNW IPA is so honest, I cannot help but want to converse with it more often.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the misty orange blond.
-The tantalizing hop perfume slightly outshines the already enjoyable flavor profile.
-Crushed nuts seem to surface from the malt character, which is a tad underdeveloped.
-Peppery, grassy, coniferous hop bitterness seals the deal and links with the compelling aroma.

Bottle; thx Mike!

2010-07-04. Crisp golden dark amber body, modest beige head and light lace. 3+ Huge leafy, weedy green hop aroma, vegetation dominates. 6+ Flavour is similarly green and leafy, mild citrus is lightly astringent, lemon seed like in the finish. 6+ Smooth average palate. Decent, heavy on the leafy character, which I don’t love. On tap at Seattle International Beer Festival

22. Thanks, Skoi! Your hospitality is both surprising and overwhelming. :-)
This beer is one of those little gems that comes out of nowhere. Maybe it’s just the perfect match for a certain palate or maybe it’s a bit underrecognized--either way, this is a kickin IPA. I hope they can broaden their distro to include a regular stop somewhere in Seattle.
Pours a nice ruddy orangeish medium amber with a thick, though brief, little creamy tan head. Nice peach and especially mango nose. Just a fruit-forward delight; really smells like there could be fruit flesh in the glass. Creamy medium body, active carb. Very sessionable body. Caramelly biscuit mid-palate, but that pales in comparison to the lovely peach and mango hop payload. Not the fruitiest or sweetest IPA around, but refreshing and flavorful and very drinkable. Tidy little resin grace note for a finish. Great stuff.

Medium gold color. Medium head. Aroma is hop spicy and fruity. A big hoppy IPA. Malts are nutty and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and slightly floral. Somewhat bitter. Well balanced. Very clean tasting IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.
