Bomber. Pours a light golden orange color with a small layer of off-white foam. The aroma is mostly hops oil, pine and orange rind. The taste starts off with an aggressively bitter resiny hops flavor that leads to some lemon, grapefruit and pineapple notes. Also a slight alcohol burn toward the end. Slightly creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and more sharp, floral bitterness in the finish. Definitely delivers in the hops department but could use a little bit more of a malt presence for balance.

I smell hops malt and fruit in this hazy blood orange brew with almost no head. A full bodied brew crisp at first then bitter as can be with small amounts of sweetness. The beer is sweet enough to mask the 9% abv and it tastes very green in flavor.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bomber, served in a Riedel IPA glass. Pours beautiful bright orangish copper with thick creamy off-white head that laces well. Aroma is medium sweet caramel malt, and dank resinous hops. Taste is thick syrupy caramel malt, surprisingly not as sweet as suspected. Big bitter hops which cut through the heavy malt easily - notes of pine, fresh herbs, and grapefruit. Fairly big beer for the abv. Lingers quite bitter on the finish. Not its fault that my expectations were so high for this based on other Laurelwood IPAs. Maybe just a touch more malt sweetness would stand up better to the hops on this? Either way, nitpicking, solid DIPA.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz bomber bought from Roth’s Sunnyslope Store in S.Salem.
$5.99 ( and on a room temp shelf).
Darker burnt orange colour, slightly hazy body with a nice sized thick and frothy off white head.
Very strong aromas..of caramel, fudge like malts and citric, floral and spicy hop. Nice stuff.
THick and very malty taste though the hops make an appearance later.
Nice on the palate..thick and low carbonation.
With the aroma i thought this was going to be a hop monster but i think months on the shelf have eroded what it once was.
Ihave noticed Roths are putting more and more of the bombers on warm shelves..not good .I think i will take my business elsewhere.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a huge frothy off-white head on there. The hops on this one are very herbal and very strong - they definitely hit you up front in the nose. Taste is sweeter and earthier than I would prefer, though there is a moderate level of bitterness to the beer. Not bad, but not really my type of DIPA.

Taste: lightly bitter, grapefruit initial flavor and finish with average duration.
Palate: medium bodied with dry texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: interesting flavor, not overly bitter, easy to drink.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: Amber color with a light creme colored head.
N: Crystalized sugar, pineapple, pine, orange in syrup, sweet biscuit, mango. Green sapling and earth.
T: Excellent sweetness and bitterness. A lot of citrus.
M: Sticky, heavy body, moderate alcohol burn.
O: A big, successful beer. Although it’s not the most flavorful, or mindblowing IIPA, it goes well with spring.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Pours a bright ruby/copper color with a medium white head. A rich nose of sugars, sweet malts, floral hops, crisp oranges. The flavor is big rich hops, sugary sweet caramel, toffee, tropical fruit, almost no bitterness. In terms of flavor, pushing toward a IIIPA. Quite drinkable.

Draft pour. Strong, bitter citrus aroma and taste. A bit of a sweet, flat finish. This one wasn’t too memorable to me.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Bailey’s Taproom. Pungent hop nose with a bit of sewer. Hazy copper color. Thick sourish caramel / mid goes a little sweet with rotten dates and then flattens out / finish is malty. Medium body. Nice enough. The rotten date note kind of unsettles everything. Doesn’t really come together so well.
