3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Pours a light golden orange color with a small layer of off-white foam. The aroma is mostly hops oil, pine and orange rind. The taste starts off with an aggressively bitter resiny hops flavor that leads to some lemon, grapefruit and pineapple notes. Also a slight alcohol burn toward the end. Slightly creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and more sharp, floral bitterness in the finish. Definitely delivers in the hops department but could use a little bit more of a malt presence for balance.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Bailey’s Taproom. Pungent hop nose with a bit of sewer. Hazy copper color. Thick sourish caramel / mid goes a little sweet with rotten dates and then flattens out / finish is malty. Medium body. Nice enough. The rotten date note kind of unsettles everything. Doesn’t really come together so well.

Mediocre beer for mediocre man (which I am not). Will not be drinking again. I have better things to do with my time. Like trying to lick my own gooch. So far, I have been unsuccessful. I think I need rehab.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Past notes. On tap. Colour...cloudy gold with a massively thick white head. Nose...teaming with sugared grapefruit, dried pineapple and hop resin. Palate...thick, chewy and delectable with massive hops and a great balance between the grapefruity and piney hops. Tropical fruits abound and sweetness is present without being cloying. The bittering continues through the finish which is long and memorable!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from De Laurenti, Pike Market, Seattle
Hazy golden color, with medium sized head. The aroma is a bit cornish, sweet, then maybe fruity. Good body, round but lean, smooth, not sticky, no crystal malt feeling; it also has a good toffee flavor, very strong bitterness, piney resins, light fruits, and some cereals.

Great nose, great IPA taste, and great finish! My second favorite at the 2012 Concordia Alehouse Imperial IPA blind tasting contest.

650 mL bottle to taster
Hops, alcohol, papaya, and cigarette smoke. Smokey amber with a thin white head. Sweet and intensely hoppy, peppery and very long lasting. Full bodied, slick and oily with the expected alcohol burn at the end.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle - Very complex nose, sweet malts, alcohol, hops and some more floral hops. I also smell some brine and vinegar. Slightly cloudy light orange with a thin head. Amazing mouthfeel, huge body and very nice on the tongue. A very well rounded mellow taste, earthy hop forward with some mild resin and orange peel. Light caramel notes and not much bitterness with a nice long finish.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours clear copper with a foamy/frothy off-white head. Aroma is hops - floral and citrus. Full bodied. Moderate carb. Flavor is not harsh, and there’s a sturdy caramel backbone, but there is one heck of a lot of floral and citrus in this. As the initial hop drains away there’s an upsurge of mild grapefruit rind. Smooth, extremely hoppy and very tasty. But not at all burning or harsh. Brilliant ale.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
In short: A round and smooth big American IPA. Superb example of how this type of beer can be very satisfying without the assertive bitterness
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed fresh a few weeks after purchase, bottle forwared to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt
The look: Almost clear golden body topped by a medium shining off-white head leaving lots of lacing on the glass. This beer looks good with a strong body-head contrast and an overall “healthy beer” look
In long: Nose is uber-hoppy yet smooth at the same time, freshly cut flowers laid over freshly cut citrus fruits. Not intense but very inviting. Taste follows suite. Has hoppy as this beer is (and it is very hoppy), there’s nothing aggressive in the taste except maybe a little alcohol bite. The round caramelized malts offer a creamy sweetness sensation. A soft chewy cookies sensation in the malts and yeast coming together. Then the hops, omnipresent but never aggressive. Apricots, green pine needles, mangos, flowers, more… Bitterness is tasty but round and smooth. Mouthfeel is superb with a lot of very soft bubbles (like a cask carbonation on steroids) as well as a comfortable fluffiness. I wish the light alcohol bite wasn’t there was a better attenuation, because everything just comes together so well in the IPA except for those two aspects. Not complaining about the size of the bottle, but now all my other bomber of beers seem to be of Green Mammoth proportions.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22. Pours a crystal clear burnished medium amber with a surging, though brief, loose tan head. Lots of spotty lace. Big fresh powerful fruity nose--lots of pineapple, mango, and grapefruit, with the sweet and tropical notes predominant. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toasty caramel mid palate with a long crisp resiny finish. Very nice and refreshing with an invitingly sweet overture.
