Felt more like an ESA than a brown to me, but whatever. Very cloudy brown body. Strong malty aroma with notes of caramel, chocolate and dark sugar. Medium bodied, felt hotter than it was.

Draft at the brewpub. Roasted malt aroma. Dark brownish color with a light tan head. Slightly smoky malt flavor; not too sweet. A bit of hop. A little dark sweetness and smoke in the finish. There is not quite enough bitter to balance. Good drink, though.

On tap at Laurelwood Pizza Co in PDX--Poured a dark brown with a thin tan head. Nose of sweet brown sugar and molasses. Welcomed robust nutty flavor, slightly sweet. Finished bitter and a little much for the style, but still quite nice.

Tap @ Restaurant: Brown ebony color, tan head, nice head and light lacing. Nose of brown sugar, caramel malt, raw honey and molasses. Hmmmm. The flavor is nutty, actually balanced vs that nose and has a chewy finish. Nice and malty, with dark sugar conjuring without the sweetness.

Om tap at the BP Clear deep chestnut colored and a nice light tan head. Sweet brown sugar woody aroma. Flavor is a bit sweet and lothly toasted. Nearly porterosh. Medium bodied. Sloghtly astringont sour note at the end. Not bad
