This brow is a tad more bitter than expected. The taste is more appealing than the palate considering the lingering nutty aftertaste. Overall a good brown and brewed well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(22oz bottle) Pours a clear amber-brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, light citrus, and brown sugar. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, and caramel.

This beer came across as way too sweet and with too much fruit, both on the nose and the taste. A little watery, and completely forgettable.

Bottle:   Not very dark for a Brown Ale, moreso a dark caramel, and even that is a stretch.   Moderate to large frothy tannish head, spotty lacing.   Also hazy with defnite chunks floating about.   Pale roasted malts, seems more toasty.   Faint caramel and biscuit.   Smooth on the tongue.   Almost seems like an Amber Brown or sorts.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Backside shows a very shallow hop aspect and minor nuttiness.   I was thinking this was going to be bigger, but regardless its still enjoyable.   Very soft and easy to drink.

Pours a cloudy nutty brown with frothy tan head. Aroma is nutty almond, caramel, bread and subtle notes of raisin. Flavor is a mix of subtle chocolate, hazelnut, hay and floral tones. Body is creamy yet light with active carbonation.

Sample from bomber. Light reddish brown with off-white head. Lightly toasted bread, caramel malt, grassy hops, and some light nuts. Pretty boring.

A reddish copper ale with a thin creamy and lacing moka head. In aroma, a nutty and grainy malt with herbal notes. In mouth, a nutty malt with chalky notes, a bit musty, light boiled vegetables. On tap at PDX Concourse E location, July 31 2011.

Not super malty. But still plenty of chewy brown taste that I enjoy. Pours dark brown with minimal aroma.

A: The pour is a light brown color with a thin off-white head. S: A nice bit of nuttiness on the aroma along with sweet toasted and bready malts. Light hop aromas that are earthy in nature. A touch of tea on the nose, making it truly English. T: Strangely grassy on the flavor. Moderately bitter, which isn’t really appropriate for this kind of beer. Slightly nutty with some floral notes and a touch of toffee sweetness. M: Medium body with a fairly high level of carbonation. O: Not a terribly good brown ale, especially not an English one. Would pass on this one.
