1 liter, red waxed, flip top bottle. 2007 Vintage. Poured a medium and hazy amberish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, some dark fruits, with a trace of citrus. Tastes of caramel, dark fruits, and some woodiness. Alcohol burn in the finish.

Pours a transparent copper with ruby hues and a clingy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and light fruits with a touch of piny hops. Body starts slightly effervescent and sugary sweet with a touch of strawberries fruitiness and warming alcohol toward the thinner finish. An ok barleywine, but would be better with some age.

Sampled from a bottle. Nose is semi-harsh meaty old ale chewy oxidized caramel malt. Heavy alcohol all over this one, big and bold for sure. Slightly oxidized old creamed plums, wood, stale pipe tobacco and sugar. Heavy on the tongue, astringent and harsh. Oxidized cardboard and wet paper and doghair, that doesn’t sound so great but overall it was still nice enough, just suffered a little too much from oxidation.

The 20th beer tasted in a 28 beer blind BW tasting. Poured a slightly hazed deep amber color with a small creamy off-white head. Sweet fruit malt with notes of cherry and light alcohol. Fruity flavor with phenolic smoke. Light tart fruit on the finish. Light to medium body.
