MakeItDrinkIt (66), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 11, 2008 Rich mahogany/light brown hue with a fluffy tan head. Aromas of caramel, a touch of vanilla and a bit of raisins. Flavor is lightly sweet at first, rich creamy honey and orange blossoms, then the hops come through and steal away your buds with a short tongue-lashing. At the finish, though, the hops mellow and you get some lingering resinous/honey/caramel flavors reappearing. Very nice now, should be brilliant soon! Chad Kennedy has kicked it with this one! Shag (1811), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA May 31, 2008 This poured a copper color with a large white head. The aroma contains some alcohol along with some citrus, mainly oranges, oats and caramel. The flavor is a little bit hoppy with some citrus but a good malt presence. The finish is slightly bitter and warming. Overall more like an IIPA but I liked it. Ty5592 (1009), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 2, 2008 I was just telling my wife last night that I was gonna drink Olde English for my 1000 rating, Come to find out that this beer is #1000...Damn!! Maybe Olde English for #2000? Anyway, 1L red wax dipped 07 bottle. Pours a hazy deep amber/orange color with lacing type head. Aroma was malty and fruity with light citrus hops. The taste was the same with smooth medium sweetness. Nice balance between the sweet malt and the cirus hops. Rich and thick on the palate. Pours a nice cloudy rich orange caramel color with a light beige head. Looks nice in the snifter and smells good too. Rich caramel like malt and light hops on the nose. Taste is dry and hoppy and with warm caramel and light grassy hops that give it a nice brightness in the end. Very light alcohol. Very tasty, balanced, leaning towards hoppy and one of the better beers at the tasting, I thought. marcus (1119), Sacramento, California, USA Jan 3, 2008 1 liter flip-top bottle. This reddish copper beer poured with a decent off-white head that dissipated quickly. The flavor is initially sweet and malty, but finishes dry and slightly harsh with a warm alcohol sensation. I greatly enjoyed trying this well-crafted beer with a limited distribution. Thanks for sharing, Bill.
