4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Laurelwood Publick House in Portland, OR. 5 ounce sample. Some piney/grapefruity hops present in the nose initially. Light toasted malts are also present. Pretty hoppy with cascades dominating. Some scant sweetness present in the aroma as well. Dark copper/light amberish transparent body with frothy off-white head and nice lacing. Very attractive. Piney/hempy hop flavors immediately hit the tongue, but not destroyingly bitter. Backed up by lots of sweet, caramelly malt goodiness. Small hempy hops come in at the end, producing a light bitter finish. Well done!

Didnít realize some of the beers were organic. Moderate hop aroma. Orangey-gold colour. OK Light hop flavour and body. Still timid and mainstream.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Brewpub. Nice head on top of light amber colored beer. Beautiful aroma. Full of citrus (grapefruit, lime, lemon) and flowers (honeysuckle). First taste is all hops. Kind of "green" tasting, perhaps from the amount of hops in this beer. After initial hops comes nice caramel sweetness, then right back to that green hop flavor. Taste to me what I would imagine chlorophyll to taste like. Nice beer, not as bitter as I would have thought (the chalkboard at the pub said 60 IBUís). Balanced flavors, tasted a little too new.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Translucent auburn color with a lite fuzzy head. The aroma is got that funky cascade hop aroma, almost not to rip off what McPhee said, but it does have a bit of an earthiness, the malt character is very subdued and I also tasted a bit of that buttery diacteyl. This beer could be so much more.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear, reddish-amber beer. Thin, white head. Nice hoppy cascade aroma. A bit of earthy malts, light caramel. Well-balanced, although there is a touch of diacetyl in here. Decent flavour, but could be better.

3.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
On Tap @ Rogue Bones & Brew Fest in Portland: This was a beautiful red brown color that was somewhat clear with nice semi-sticky lacing. It had a FULL body and a great bitter aftertaste. Very nice.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Draft: Laurelwood Public House in Portland, OR) I feel like Iím writing the same notes for every beer Iím trying at this place. They all seem like variations of each other. Here, the signature grainy maltiness is fairly prominent with this beer too, but as the beers get darker, the caramely and roasty malts seems to slowly increase. This is moderately sweet, and seems quite bitter toward the finish, more bitter than their pale ale, and the grapefruit flavored hops is easily able to balance the beer in the end. The nose is grainy, spicy and slightly roasty. Golden in color. Off-white head settles to a thin layer, leaving a wide ring at the top of the glass. Nothing is distinctive yet, and Iím getting bored. Some variety, please!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber colour with a small head.Tasted more like an ESB due to the bitterness from the cascade hops. Nice caramel malt aroma and flavour but the hops seemed to dominate.
